so I just took an IQ test ...
I'm 14, and my score was 117.
I'm just curious as to where on the scale that is ... they didn't really give you anything that said "you're 34% above average", or "5% below average" or anything ...
so I'm just wondering whether that's good or not ...

no my IQ test wasn't scaled for a 14 year old ... it was just a regular adult one.

IQ is your mental age divided by your chronological age, and then multiplied by 100. So if your mind is 15 years old, and your body is only 10 years old, your IQ is 15/10*100 = 150.
Was your test scaled for a 14-year old? If it was, then your IQ is 117. Average for everyone is about 100, give or take a few points.
If your test wasn't scaled for a 14-year old, then it was most likely an adult IQ test. People are generally considered to have achieved their full intelligence at age 17 (you never stop learning, but your ability to learn is thought to stop growing at 17). So if it was an adult IQ test, your true score was 117*17/14 = 142, which is outstanding.
About 66% of all people have IQs between 85 and 115, and over 96% of all people have IQs between 70 and 130. So, you can get a feel for how you scored from that.

Congratulations! 117 isn't a bad score at all! To understand more about IQ and IQ testing try the following website: http://www.iqcomparisonsite.com/IQBasics.aspx
Midway down is a chart that explains the different classifications. Using either the Terman classification or the Wechsler classification, you would be above average in intelligence (an average IQ ranges from 90-110).

Congrats...that's above average. I.Q., means Intelligence Quotient, Basically, the ability to learn and absorb information. Age has no bearing on the score. My son, at age 6, scored a 149...that's considered bordering on genius. He was only entering 1st grade, and we were having a attention deficit problem with him, being bored and not listening in K'garten.

117 is above average...
in general, in America, 100 is average, 140 is considered "Genius"...i am sure there are gradients in between 100 & 140 that could give you a percentile rank, but i am not sure where to find those...
your best bet would to be to get a REAL IQ test, and not one on-line...that would certainly be able to tell you more...

mine is 126 and guess what I'm 14 to. I.Q is just simply mental capcity or how much information your brain can store. but anyway you are like above average.
