I understand exactly what you mean about being tired of the relationship downsides.

Right now I prefer to be single because I am burnt out from relationships.

Well, it's my belief that if you keep trying and trying and the relationship doesn't seem to get better, that's a sign that it's time to end it. Arguments, long discussions and fights are ways of expressing the 2 different people that we are in a relationship. We need them for learning about one another but we also need to learn from them. Talking things out and accepting that you GF just simply hates chunky peanut butter or whatever is part of growth in a relationship. After the fighting, there should always be compromise and respect. If that's missing, it's time to go.

Speaking as a teacher myself by all means when you return to work be courteous and say THANK YOU for the card(s) and good wishes and nothing further. Make sure there are other people present when you do that and don't embellish further. The less that your students know about you as a person the less it will interfere with your role as a teacher. But avoid being alone with any particular student and especially avoid being seen to have favorites. If she does have felines for you (and she may not - just wanting to please her teacher) bear in mind it may have to do with you being her teacher and less to do with you as a person. If you are already in a relationship then perhaps just casually refer to it during class exposition in her hearing - again without being too obvious as to why you are mentioning it. If you are worried you may be in any danger of felines for her (this being reciprocal) then it may be best to not take it further until she has got her qualifications and no longer attends where you work before starting anything. I hope this helps

I think we all have been throught the same situation. I personally think that if I try and try and try and nothing seems to work out, whats the point to it? I know it will hurt, but whats the point of being with somebody if he/she will not work as hard as I am in a relationship? Trust me, we are all sick of these kinds of relationships = )

I'm sick of the whole "relationship" thing, PERIOD!!! The games people play in life...in the name of love... just amaze me. Women and men have totally different agendas and everyone is out for themselves. I've been Single & Alone, totally and completely happy for almost 4 years. I think I'll stay as far away from any type of "relationship" for the rest of my life, thank you very much.

NOT having relationships has many downsides, too. So what difference does it make? Life is full of ups and downs. You can endure those ups and downs alone, or with the help of relationships. Your choice!

There's little in life that doesn't have its downsides...we press on. Sometimes the downs aren't worth the ups, other times they are (but the downs are still bummers).

Chicks have a knack for complicating and poisoning a good thing.
My belief is the main reason they do this is to try to exercise the power and control they believe their vaginas give them.

Don't put up with too many games or too much crap, remember all the other girls have one too.

The downs are what makes us want to keep trying and makes our skin thicker. Sometimes you just have to take your time in relationships. Its like that saying goes some people are just around for a season and some are around for a lifetime.

if the bad points in a relationship outweigh the good, it's probably time to reconsider the relationship.

it happened to me, and believe me when i say, i got tired of trying to get through all the pressure that was placed upon me, the lies, the stupidity and other things.

it wasn't worth the stress.
