It is special because God made it holy....and is a time that we can slow down and spend more time with Him and look at the blessings that He has given to us, nature, our families.
I keep it by stopping all work before sundown on Friday night. We go to church Saturday, have special family time during the afternoon....rest. We do no work on Saturday and keep the day holy until sundown. By keeping it holy...we do not watch worldly tv, do worldly activities, etc. Everything we do is to remind us that God is our Creator.

The Sabbath is special because it is a memorial of God's creative power. It is a time to reflect on God and all he has done for us. It is time that we need to set aside to get better aquainted with him and studying his word. Of course we still need to pray and study during the week also, but this day gives us that extra time we need that we don't have during the week.

It is beneficial to us because God knew how much strain we would put on our bodies, and that we would need a day to recuperate from all our work. There have been studies done on this. Showing that those who took one day a week to rest were healthier and happier people.

All preperation for the Sabbath is done on Friday, so that we will not be working needlessly on the Sabbath. We go to church, share a fellowship meal with church members each week. The rest of the day varies. Sometimes it's taking a nap. Going to a park, or taking a hike. Sometime's it might be staying home and playing some sort of family Bible games.

The sabbath is important because as said in the Bible when God created the world he done it in 6 days and on the 7th day he rest. So we too should rest on the 7th day and follow the example God set. Its beneficial as we spend all week working mostly or are busy doing things and we dont always spend much time with family and other people of importnace to us. Therefore on the sabbath we can spend time with people who are special to us and can prepare for the week ahead. Supposedly you also go to church etc on the sabbath.

I celebrate the Sabbath the way Jesus did. Time at church and then special time with friends and family.
Why anyone would knock back a legitimate day free of work is beyond me.
Yes, if we are to keep the sabbath in Heaven then it's good enough to keep now.

Biblically, God made the sabbath as a day of rest. A day to reflect on his goodness and creation. As a christian, I spend the sabbath in the house of God, and with family.

The sabbath is beneficial because it promotes family values, something America is losing over time. Maybe if people were to spend time with family the divorce rate wouldn't be so high.

Its a great time each week to reflect upon God,
receive strength and direction from God,
and worship and thank Him for His son Jesus Christ.

I find that when I refuse to work on Sabbath, the rest of the week is ten times better and more profitable in every way.

The Sabbath is an example of arbitrary rules used to enforce belief in an imaginary creature that does nothing of any importance to the world.

If people would sleep in on the Sabbath with their spouse instead of sitting in a cold building being told how sinful they are maybe the divorce rate would go down.

Hmm, that might explain why atheists are less likely to be divorced.

I let the Jews have the Sabbath.I rest in the finished work of Christ.Galatians 3 and 4 and Collosian 2 say the Sabbath was a shadow of things to come and that substance was Christ Jesus.

shabbat is special because it gives us a chance to slow down, to escape the "everyday" by turning off phones, computers, etc. and spend time studying the torah, spend time with family.... My family goes to shabbat services on Friday evening- if we don't, we have a very nice, traditional shabbat meal at home. Sometimes we go to services on Saturday (we are reform- conservative and especially orthodox would go on Sat. more than Fri.) On Saturday (shabbat) we do family related activities with the children, have friends over, take naps, read, etc. Then finish the sabbath with havdalah at sundown.

The Sabbath means more than the "churchianity" movement has taught that it should be. It is more than a day of rest, it is about an eternity of rest and when you find that then you find everything......

(Oh, and you can find that rest before you die or Jesus returns)
