Don't make it early, because tomatoes lose their flavor and texture when refrigerated. At the same time, Mozzarella should be kept cold -- Leaving it out overnight could help spur bacterial growth. If you do anything, put it in the fridge, but it won't taste as good as fresh made. Same with the basil too. It will be way better if you chop/crush it moments before serving.

Make it that morning and refrigerate when you get to your location. Tomatoes seem to go through a strange break down process if refrigerated for long periods of time after they're cut.

That kind of salad is okay to make ahead and refrigerate. That will help the flavors to blend in together better. You must refrigerate and it is okay to make the same morning and refrigerate But, it must be refrigerated.

Never put a tomato in the fridge, they lose all flavor and turn mushy. The rest is allright but save slicing the tomato until morning.

I just made it this weekend and I think you should make it the night before and keep it in the fridge. I use olive oil and balsamic Vinigar over the tom, moz, and fresh basil. The longer it sat the better it got!!!

Refrigerate it until about half an hour before serving. You have cheese in there.

Refrigerate to prevent wilting and slow the inevitable growth of bacteria.
