I saw it on a Shia site but it didn't explain it.

It means he went into hiding...
at the age of 5, shortly after his father was martyred... also he was born 15th of Sha'ban...
He was in short hiding at first... 4 ppl were in contact with him... then he went into the long hiding... n before that... he said whoever says that he has met me during my long hiding is not a true Muslim and is lying...
Other Prophets that will come back with him... are Jesus, Khizr, etc...
He will have an army of 313 who are extremely devoted to him and Allah... n another of 1000 who would fight against injustice...
When he comes... that would be the end of times... some say he would rule 4 years before the world ends... some say otherwise...
Also his name is Mahdi... n the Prophet talked about him alot... there are alot of Hadith about him... that are acceptable by both sects...

He's not Jesus. Acording to the islamic faith he will bring world peace and lead a prayer that Jesus will take part in.

This is what the shiia believe. They believe he will come and kill the Messiah Al-Dajjal. Muslims believe that ISSA(pbuh) will come back to earth and slay the Dajjal.
There are no Sunni Hadiths which talk or have anything written about him...
This is the SHiia religion which they have no sources and they create legends about their Imams. He is not even a Prophet like Isa(PBUH). Prophet Mohammed(PBUH) even said persia is an evil land and that it will be destroyed. Imams are only that and nothing more. Muslims will be the ones who will be protected. They did not make stories up like Shiia.
The Shiia believe that when the 12 Imam comes they should kill anyone named Omar. We Muslims do not worship Imams. We do not worship Prophets. We worship only Allah(SWT)..
