No more than 8 oz a day. Eat the whole FRUIT instead--it has fiber, and is much healthier than the straight juice is.

My dentist told me to water juice - it's bad for the teeth. Also probably bad for IBS - too acid. Also, been told by several 'alternative' medicine people that you should not drink fruit juice first thing in the morning if you are taking medicine first thing in the morning. Orange/grapefruit juice, etc., don't go well with a lot of different medicines. Oddly, doctors usually don't mention this when giving you a prescription of a 1 a day tablet to be taken with breakfast - particularly relevant if you are taking medicine for thyroid problems. Rant over, sorry!

Although it is healthy for you , anything in large quantities can be bad for you. Pure fruit juice can rot your teeth if taken in large amounts and it can also play havoc on your tummy. It is full of citric acid and this will burn either in the stomach and come up as acid reflux or have a laxative effect and burn on the way out. Perhaps even both. Drinking plenty of water may help to dilute it a bit, but just be careful.
Hope this helps and have a great day/night!!!

Too much juice [just like anything else really] is not good for you. Especially for your teeth [too acidic] and it can't be good for you ibs. One or two glasses a day should be the limit. You already drink lots of water so if you're thirsting for something else, rather go for herbal tea infusions, iced teas, flavoured sparkling water, etc.

Yes, esp. w/ IBS -- do you want to get Diabetes too? One piece of fruit a day at most, you really need fibre. Switch to green tea, peppermint or fennel teas, (they're delicious). There are many dietary &physical approaches to reduce IBS -- here's a websit w/ the teas & other IBS support. This condition is easily controllable !

Well, at one time I would have agreed with you. But the doctor told my husband to stop drinking juice!!! I guess it is like everything else, we need to eat and drink in moderation.

My dentist despairs of the number of Mums pumping citrus juice drinks into their kids because of the damage the ascorbic acid is doing to the enamel on their teeth.

It can be pretty fattening and high in cals. It'd be better to stick to one glass of juice or one smoothie a day and then have water and herbal tea.
I imagine lots of fruit acid may irritate your IBS a bit too.
