When I said you could get hamsters and gerbils out of an almond if you planted it I WAS KIDDING... You have to plant giraffe feces in order to get rodents.. it has nothing to do with water.

It wouldn't stop raining here all the way up to mid-July. Completely drowned my crops. So I started again. A late crop is better than no crop, right? Now it's so hot and dry I have to give them water constantly.

Wouldn't it be nice if it could rain for a day, then stop for a few days, then rain for a day?

You might have a better luck doing the Indian rain dance. LA as in Los Angles or Louisiana? If you are in Los Angeles then see if you could spend a couple hours in their casinos and then ask them to teach you how to do the rain dance.

The trouble is some harried housewife has strung out a string of washing and praying even harder for sun to dry out her line.

Have pity on God.
For God's sake! What do you expect Him to do with contradictory demands from ardent devotees?

I hate to knock it to you but He's not just punishing you. Farms all over south (don't know about other parts of the country - sorry) are in a state of drought. Between the late freeze this spring and the lack of rains many farmers will be struggling to pay their bills this year.
All we can do, as believers*, is to keep praying and keep our faith.
*believers being anyone who believes in God (Muslim, Jew, Christian)

Maybe you should have voted FOR all the water initiatives from the 1980s and 1990s that went down to horrendous defeat (I think I was the only one who voted FOR them).

Consider that you may already be in Hell where there is no God to save you. You chose to be born into this mess because you thought you could make a difference. Unwise choices are part of the learning process. Earth is no longer the paradise it was in the beginning. Don't blame God for the mess. He didn't make it. Why should he clean it up?

read the book of Job in the bible. Maybe its in Gods plan for LA not to have any crops. He is still God and he still loves you. Blessed be the name of the Lord, who gives and takes away.
