I dont think we hate atheists. I think that we are concerned for your eternal life. God has a wonderful place prepared for us....we just dont want you to miss out.

I think we're both kind of brutal to each other. I've seen atheists on this board be pretty mean to Chrisitans and Christians to atheists. We definitely antagonize each other pretty well. I don't' know where the Christian hatred comes. Some form the antagonism I'm sure. But I think there is a cultural war in a sense going on. It has to do with laws, politics, education - all of that. Christians want the nation to be more socially conservative, atheists want Christianity out of laws, education and other secular institutions.

It's not really 'Christians' who hate Atheists, or anyone else for that matter, it's the person inside who hates others. If Christians hate anyone, then they're not being very Christian to begin with. All religions teach love and acceptance of everyone, whether you personally agree with what you see or not, so if you as a person have hate and negative feelings towards another human being, then you are not practicing your true religion and beliefs.

I hope this answers your question.

A Real christian, does not hate anyone. Especially atheists. A real christian would have love for them. Real love. For a Real christian would understand where hatred for God comes from.

I am amused at how some Christians can speak as 'one', as a collective, as 'we'.

As an agnostic, I couldn't even begin to speak for all the other millions of different minds that are agnostic.

Maybe this question would be less misleading if it included the word 'some' somewhere between 'Why' and 'Christians'... ;-)

It wouldn't be so bad if the christian humans hated the atheist humans.... but when people who claim to love you and want to help you end up drawing their claws on you, that is when it gets worrisome.

Human behaviour doesn't make much sense really.

It appears to me that some of the most hate type answers on this forum are aimed AT Christians. I have not seen many answers with hate in them coming FROM Christians.

I'm amused at the stupidity of some of these answers. You know nothing about me as a person and yet I am judged by you simply because I am a Christian. I am stupid, I am a hate monger, I am evil. NOT I try to live my life peaceably and do unto others as I want done unto me. If that is wrong then so be it.

Do you have an example of this supposed 'hate'? Or are you just stirring the pot? Christians don't hate, but in fact love and care about everyone. Someone who says they hate anyone isn't a real Christian.

Are you kidding? I see Christians on this forum defending their faith to atheists all the time, but I haven't seen a lot of hate coming either way. Clearly some shots are fired either direction from time to time. Again, Christians are called to love all people, but Christians (like myself) are not free from sin. We sin and make mistakes, we are just saved from our sins by Christ and required to be accountable for them.

Some of us do, probably because of the misconceptions we can have about atheists in the first place. But some of us don't. I get along with most atheists.
