Nero is by far the #1 choice for CD/DVD burning, and has been for a long time.

To the best of my knowledge, there isn't a free/open source alternative that comes even close to it. Although, Nero does come bundled with every CD/DVD burner I've ever bought, at no extra cost.

If you're not interested in getting it with a new drive, and are not into software piracy, then you really should suck it up and buy it. =)

Nero is not £80 Have you checked
Base version is only £15 and the premium £45
http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_sw_h_/202-2653988-5530205?initialSearch=1&url=search-alias%3Dsoftware&field-keywords=nero&Go.x=15&Go.y=10&Go=Go
You get what you pay for. I have used a wide range of software and Nero is the best. I say that there is one better package but it is difficult to master and only works from the command line.

I found a free download of Nero here http://bitly.com/VMdYad

Nero supports burning audio, video and data to CD, DVD or Blu-ray Disc.
It works very well.
Hope it helps.

£80?? I have Nero on my computer and it cost me nowt. That's the beauty of having a computer-building brother, I'm lucky ain't I?
£80? I can't believe that, there must be a trial version somewhere to download for free.

Hi!

I use Nero too. I know of at least one alternative: Win On CD, never tested though. Windows also burns data to DVDs (if properly configured). When it comes to DVD Video... I have no idea.

Good luck!

Download Roxio free. I don't know how comprehensive the free download is I have the full version it came free with my PC and it is way better than Nero I had that and dumped it in favour of Roxio.

Cheers.

PS You can always dump it if you don't like it
