Discuss this with your doctor. He/she might prescribe you a new pain medication. You might be allergic to your current medication.

Wow, how are you gonna decide with all of these answers?? lol It sounds to me like you have been prescribed a medication that is too strong for you. I wish I knew what it was I could help more. But since I don't my advice to you is that if it is making you that sick it isn't gonna matter if you have a full or empty stomach you are having a reaction to it, or at the very least it is just to strong for you. Get ahold of your nurse and either call in a prescription of Phenigren , it is a great anti nausea medication that is used by alot of chronic pain patients and also cancer patients after chemo. Or change your pain medication. The problem with changing the medication is that they haven't determined why you are vomiting and they likely will write a prescription with the same ingredients and you may react to it again, so you will have all of this expensive medication laying around that isn't doing you any good at all. If you don't find the answers that help you here, you can email with the particular drug that you are on and I will try to help you more.
Good Luck, I hope you have a better day 2 day :=)

talk to your doctor about it. Maybe you or someone close to you can just call the doctors office. Maybe you are supposed to take the medicine with food or even a glass of milk ( i've seen that on a label once). Maybe it's to strong for you or is interacting with something else you are taking, whatever the problem you need to ask a doctor. And don't put it in your rectum it may not work and then you've gone through all that for nothing.

Try taking your meds on a full stomach. They wont work as fast or be as effective but throwing them up dosent do you much good either. If it's a codein or hydrocodone medicine like vicodin then the food should solve the problem. Otherwise, check with your doctor to make sure that you are not allergic to it or if it is available in smaller doses. Taking 5mg every 6 hours is easier on your stomach than taking 20mg once a day.

Don't take them on an empty stomach. Have a light meal (nothing very fatty or spicy) then take your meds. If that doesn't work, call your doctor and ask them to a)give you a nausea drug you can take about thirty minutes before your pain meds or b)change your pain meds. I hope that you feel better.

You need to ask your Dr for a med called Phenergan, you take it 1 hour before you take any pain med. It is for nausea they usually give it to patients that get bad nausea effects from pain meds anyway, so just ask them for it, however it will make you sleepy.

Contact your doctor and tell him of the problem, he can prescribe volterol suppositories which can be inserted into your rectum (where they will quickly be absorbed and help your pain).
Please DO NOT try inserting tablets as someone suggested!!

Take them on a full stomach. So, if you need them in the morning, eat breakfast first and then chug them down with a tall glass of water. Then follow that with a second glass of water.
