BBQ SAUCE
3/4 cup Ketchup
1/2 cup Grape jelly
1 tablespoon Chili powder
1/4 teaspoon Ground black pepper
1/8 cup Finely chopped onion
1 teaspoon Lemon juice
1 teaspoon Mustard
1 teaspoon Worchestershire Sauce
Heat all ingredients in a small sauce pan until the jelly dissolves. The sugar in the jelly will burn quickly so don't apply any sauce until your meat is already done. This will keep the sauce from burning and ruining your dish. I think it goes great with burgers, hot dogs, smoked sausage, pork chops, chicken and yes even grilled salmon.

Sure. I mean if grape jelly was the main ingredient, I don't know that I'd use it. However, I can totally see grape jelly as one of the ingredients in a BBQ sauce. It'd add sweetness as well as a bit of acidity which is what you'd want in a BBQ sauce. Like I said though, if grape was the main ingredient and was a major flavor, I don't know about it.

There are several different variations you could try
grape jelly and chili sauce
grape jelly and ketchup
My favorite is spicy mustard with apple jelly, yum!
All make an excellent sauce or marinade. Just mix to taste. For a sweeter sauce add more jelly.
Happy cooking!

********* BBQ Sauce:
2 cups ketchup
1 cup water
6 tablespoons brown sugar
5 tablespoons white sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
1 1/2 teaspoons dry mustard powder
1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
1/2 lemon, juiced
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1 cup grape jelly (depending on your taste, you might want increase or decrease amount)
1 teaspoon light corn syrup
Combine all of the sauce ingredients in a large saucepan or Dutch oven.
Over high heat, bring ingredients to a boil, stirring frequently to prevent sticking.
Once sauce comes to a boil, reduce temperature to low and simmer, uncovered, for at least 2 hours.

This isnt a recipe for the actual sauce but it does use grape jelly,
Do your pork roast in a crock pot on hi for about an hour. then turn to med.. this may take awhile depending on the size of the roast...check the meat often. just shread the meat gently
as it cooks.. try not to mix the meat too much in the juices..when the roast is fully shreaded.drain the juices off. and add your fav. over the counter bbq sauce... (Cookies is excl.).. turn crockpot to low..add 2 heaping tbl spoons grape jelly ... stir it in good .... taste as the meat keeps simmering.. and more jelly if needed

Basically it's to taste. Try using 1/2 Grape Jelly and 1/2 ketchup. I usually add a little A1 to mine as well. Then simmer. It's best done in a crock-pot, I think.
