Oh, please?!

There are SO MANY career paths in the Air Force that it is impossible to answer this question with any accuracy.

Majors may be in charge of a division of men. Or they may be being used as glorified "personal assistants" by some general or long service colonel.

There are no hard and fast "rules" regarding job descriptions. And rate of pay varies on duties and time in service, but I found this website that gives basic pay rates...

It depends on what training he's had. Typically, fighter pilots who make Major are four-ship flight leads (they command four aircraft) and often act as a Squadron's Chief Training Officer or Chief Evaluator, or Director of Operations.
Intelligence, Maintenance and Communications Majors typically command Intel, Maint and Comm flights or offices.
Air Battle Managers and Space officers are Mission Crew Commanders (in charge of 12-30 man crew on board AWACS for example) and also probably act as a Squadron's Chief Training Officer or Chief Evaluator, or Director of Operations.

Major pay depends on how long they've been in the Air Force and where they are assigned, see the table at the following link under O-4

I don't think there are ANY divisions in the Air Force (they are called Wings) and Majors do not commend divisions in any branch. For that job you have to be a General.

Majors may be pilots, doctors, nurses, administrators, unit commanders...just about anything. Google military pay scales for O-4 grade.

Your question is too general, a Major can do many jobs and the pay depends on how long they were in.
