If you want to convert audio format, you need a audio converter. Convert video you may use a video converter. Find some on http://www.google.com/.

WinAvi Video Converter cross copies most video formats with exceptional quality. it also joins videos. it's not free and not expensive. MediaMonkey does sound. There is a free version.
Do a google for both.

There are literally several by different vendors that will work with CD or DVD Codec's do a Google search and make your choice.
