Go to the Starbucks web page and they address these stories directly. Starbucks are found on military bases all over the country, so when I first read these stories I did some research. Much as I love my lattes, as a military wife I could not purchase from a company that took money from the soldiers and airmen is supposedly did not support these same people for doing thier jobs. The reality is, Starbucks does not support the war, but they do support the troops. They have sent several shipments of coffee to the various bases in Iraq as well as providing donations to the Red Cross and USO. Starbucks is a company with strong ethical convictions, but they fully support the men and women who defend this country.

The story you heard about the troops being denied coffee is NOT true. My husband (a Marine) heard about this and through official channels investigated this. The military member that the letter was supposedly written by does not exist. Starbuck has also put out a statement on this very rumor. Look it up on www.snopes.com.

I don't know, but I don't support Starbucks since I don't drink coffee and, if I did, their prices are too high.

Starbucks has many points against it. I do not do business with them now. Besides, their coffee is disturbingly average.
