A man with a hammar went into a beauty salon and beat four old women for pocket change. I am a cynic and nothing surprises me usually, but I just can't believe someone could sink that low as to beat up four old ladies with a hammar for pocket change. It just baffles me. They caught the person and now I am wondering what his punishment will be. What about you?

I saw it on the news. CNN I believe. Funny how you should call it humorous because at first I actually thought it was a joke of some sort.

Our society is fast-paced and ruthless. Some people can roll with the punches and adapt, some cannot. I'm almost at a point where nothing bad surprises me anymore.
We live in a world that is slowly running out of breath.

I feel sorry for the ladies - now they will be so terrified to even go to ANY salon or store.
There have been people like this man for centuries even since the beginning of time. One person wants what the other has but doesn't want to work too hard for it. The nature of the beast in us I suppose. But do not judge too harshly. Yes, I believe in the punishment should fit the crime always! Eye for an eye, ect ect. But, the sad truth is that this guy will do possibly 2 to 10 with good behavior and will possibly do it again. By a psychology stand point - all "rehabilitated" criminals will do another crime similar to the one he committed with a 50/50 chance when released. Also, the women, with all the psych help will have this reoccuring fear for the rest of their lives.
We have a higher chance now more than ever that todays kids when they get out in the real world will end up doing something as atrocious as the man. The "me first" attitudes and the overindulgence of some parents will cause a lot of these children to make rash and desperate decisions to obtain what they want (similar to pitching a fit). Many kids today are not seeing the big picture and are finding disturbing ways to "entertain" themselves such as beating up homeless people, pulling dangerous pranks on the elderly, and disrespecting anyone older than them. Religion has nothing to do with this statement. This man who hurt these poor defensless women for a few dollars is just a reflection of our society as a whole and what to expect in the future generations. The christian bible adage "Spare the rod and spoil the child" may mean to some as spoil your children and do not spank them and others will say it means to discipline your child and not to spoil them. I am for the latter. Teach your children responisbility for their actions and explain the reason for the punishment. Make them work for their things they want (not child labor just chores and helping neighbors) and always praise them for even the littlest accomplishments they have done. If this man had been raised caringly and family had searched him out he may not have done what he thought he needed to do. Drugs or hunger and even mental illness could all be factors in this mans brutallity. Evaluate the action for the crime, punishment to fit the crime, and retribution to those involved and make it publicly humiliating to which this man may not choose that path again.
I will pray for the women but doublely for the criminal.
Blessed be to all.

As horrible as it seems it is not suspiring. Remember the world sit by and watched Hitler gas 7 million, many old women, men and children. Then we sit by again in Rewanda while another ½ a million got butchered. This is one reason when Asked, “good teacher” Jesus responded by saying, “why do you call me good, there is none good but the father” I think we are reaping the crops we have been sowing for a long time. I realize many think that it is foolish to believe in god, so we took him out, said no god or prayer in school, so now our kids pray under their desks as one of their classmates roams the hallways gunning for anyone. Kids are told that ‘feeling good about your self’ is more important than have the correct answer. A condom and a dose of riddlin will take care of all your problems, and if that don’t work, then we have some prosaic and a free ride to the abortion mill. Children grow up, and what they where taught will last a lifetime. How many kids have had what little faith they had replaced by a biology book telling them their ancestors came from nothing, and one day they will return to nothing, that a great way to build a society isn’t it?

Reminescent of an event a few years ago near the Pine Hill Navajo Rez. Three Navajo youths entered the house of an 84 year old woman on private land near the Rez. Stabbed her through the skull 24 times with a screwdriver. The motive was partly theft, partly fun.
I think one of them is still in prison.

That's life-- it's never been any better or worse in history...and humans can get pretty cruel and desperate. Those poor ladies, I feel bad for them.
I'd say the guy deserves the an-eye-for-an-eye treatment.

I read that. One woman has a cracked skull. This man should never be in society again...unfortunately, he'll probably be out in 3 years if none of these women die.

I neither believe it nor disbelieve it (I have no basis on which to judge the validity of your words).... but it makes for a very amusing story nevertheless...
I'll probably get reported for having such antisocial views.... but I find stories like that hilarious..... much like I laugh at newspaper stories about people dying in accidents.
