Watch the end credits for the show. Watch them carefully. Sometimes they will give credit to an artist who's work is used as a prop.

If they don't with this show then still watch the credits carefully. Get the name of the producer and the production company. You can either call them yourself directly or write them. I'm sure someone there will be happy to provide you with this information.

In most cases a 'Prop Manager' is responsible for providing background props (like art work or sofas) for sets for television shows. On occasion an actor or even the producer or a director themselves will provide some art work they like and think fits the personality of the occupant of the house or apartment.

Art used as props usually comes from one of two sources: Sometimes a prop manager buys them from thrift shops or outright from a local gallery. But often they simply 'rent' art. There are several such companies in LA that do nothing but provide art as props for films and television shows. I know this because I've had some of my own works 'rented' out before.

I don't know, and I don't know why this question comes up so darned often either.

But since it does get asked fairly often, maybe someone answered it. Try looking through Resolved Questions in Painting.
