I know it's something of a joke, but there seem to be some people for whom this a genuine argument rather than a cue to toss back alcoholic beverages.
Could someone who holds this view please explain it?

[Edit] Yes, Hypno. A "lakh" is 100,000 on the Subcontinent, so 84 lakh is 8.4 million. Indians invented the decimal zero, so we shouldn't knock their unusual way of using it.

Interestingly enough no matter if they are christian or otherwise you still find ignorance in people who believe too strongly that they are rightwithout any real proof to go either way.
here's the argument...not my own because I think it's bullsh*t but here it is.
If human's evolved from primates, then there should have been a drop off point for the primates to become extinct because the evalutionary slide would have made less primates and more humans. It's a weak and highly stupid argument I'll agree but that's it.

Monkeys- Have tails small Apes- Dont have tails larger We stepped forward from old international monkeys that are all extinct of direction we and all the different apes alive on the instant are the alive descendants. additionally to evolve from the old international monkeys have been the monkeys we see todays. So human beings, chimpanzees, gibbons etc (apes) and new international monkeys the monkeys your in general see on the instant the two sprung of in 2 diverse procedures you spot we at the instant are not touching directly to the recent international monkeys we proportion an ancestors a very long earlier ok and that ancestor/ ancestors is extinct. additionally if human beings can stay to tell the story why cant apes and monkeys. Like a relatives tree its not a million line rapidly down with one surviver a technology there dissimilar offspring and it gets wider. You and your sibling are diverse yet comparable/proper human beings yet got here from an identical discern. like apes and monkeys got here from an identical ancestor of the old international monkey. Now apes and human beings. I say race is not any differnce yet heres an occasion. a white couple have a 2 toddlers the two toddlers each have 2 toddlers out of the 4 2 our mixed race 2 our white and those 4 have 2 each additionally 2 seem organic black 2 mixed race 4 white the two who seem organic black wont appear like the 4 organic white and the mixed race 2 will seem in between yet all of them proportion an ancestor all of them survived and not one of the 8 are an offspring of the different. comprehend the way we at the instant are not descendants of any writer residing on the instant yet proportion a exact ancestors with apes. Monkeys stepped forward into apes while they got here down from a tree and gained evolution in a balancing without the will of a tail issues no one is familiar with made this transformation as no one grew to become into there to work out. Our ape ancestor turnt into human beings in basic terms because of the fact they adapted to stroll then communicate direct and concern remedy final got here custom and those are the only variations from us and the the remainder of the animal kingdom all of us comprehend this got here approximately however the question is what made it got here approximately what have been our ancestors doing and we will locate out.

OK I'll try to say this in simple terms.
I'm assuming you have cousins? They are related to you care of Common Ancestors. Does not make you &your cousins are genetically IDENTICAL, but you share some DNA through those Common Ancestors.
NOW extend this concept to different Primate branches rather than just your Family & you have an Evolution explanation of the relationship between Humans and their Primate Cousins.

The same way as the existence of ants at the same times as bees chalenges evolution, or the existence of crocodiles at the same time as alligators challenges evolution, or the existence of humans challenges the evolution of woolly monkeys. In other words, it is not a challenge, except for people who enjoy belittling something they are wholly ignorant of.

Good question.
Creationists use this argument all the time. I would like them to explain how it is a valid 'challenge' to evolution theory.
