queen will just fit... only just... not sure you will be able to get the box spring in, as it is rigid but the mattress will have a bit of give - access to the bed will only be from the foot...

if you have to work with that bed, then i would suggest going up...

a queen bed is 60" by 80" which leaves less than 4 feet of floor space... so if you built a platform high enough to make the space underneath usable... either for a dresser or desk or both ...

it can be done!

Well, five feet equals 60 inches and a queen size bed is 60 inches wide. Beds with no frames are 6 ft 6 inches long making them 80 inches long. So a twin running the length of the room is the only one that will fit with space. But a double bed would fit with only about ten inches to spare. That would be with no bed frame, they take up another 8 inches or so in length and width.

So I would move down to a twin or maybe a double. I think a double is more like 50 inches and a twin is 39 inches, that would be the most practical. You could use bunk twins to have sleep over space for a friend. Or a trundle, that would Never mind a trundle will not fit. Not enough width to the room to pull it out.

A twin will have room for a night stand beside the bed. A raised twin with a desk underneath would be usefull. Then there would be room for a narrow chest at the foot of the bed for clothing.

Is there a closet?

Yes, technically it'd fit, but you'd lose anything resembling floor space - and there's no way you'd get anything else, like a desk or a dresser, in.

I would actually recommend a loft bed. These are like bunk beds without the bottom bunk. I have quite a small room myself, but since I have a double loft, I have room underneath for a full desk with some space left over. If you only have a tiny amount of space, you may even need to get a single one, but it'd mean that you have bed space, plus space underneath for a desk or a dresser or something.

It will be a very tight fit, but it can be done. How about buying a twin size bed, or a daybed? Or even a regular double bed.

Most teens need a desk. There are many nice small ones. I bought one from WalMart. Go take a look. Don't forget a nice comfortable desk chair.

Wow ! That's a small space ! You could maybe do a "loft" system that would be very, very space saving.. If you know someone handy that can help you or you are handy yourself.. That way the bed would be overhead and underneath you could put maybe a fold out sofabed or a desk.. You can find loft "plans/designs" online they are very, very popular for college kids and are pretty cool in a small space. When I was in college the parents would build them in the room and break them down when their child came home.. If that's not an option maybe get a fold out sofabed that can be tucked away when not in use. Or a daybed with drawers underneath for storage..

hmm, it would be a tight sqeeze but it might fit. A good idea for teens in a small room is to use the unused space.. Like the ceiling... for posters or a cool light fixture. In a small space.. you can't put everything on the floor. Good Luck.
