I believed at one time that homosexuality was abnormal, some sort of mistake because of what I was learning in college, the purpose of sex being to perpetuate the species makes homosexuality evolutionarily redundant. However, twenty years on plus. I recant. There are so many homosexuals in society and have been through out history that this surely can't be a mistake of evolution. They have their place in the evolution of the human species but what their functions is I don't know. Now, as far as the Bible goes, parts of it may be inspired by God, but it was written by men. These came from a patriarchal society, a tribe that wandered around fighting other tribes and getting oppressed in the various lands they settled in. I think there is a lot of influences coming from the Semitic culture in the Bible. There is a lot that is already recognised as inappropriate to this culture and time and no longer adhered to. I think this will happen with the issue of homosexuality. I hope anyway. God would never condemn a good person, no matter what their sexual preferences were.

Thats a load of horse manure. People are gay or straight by CHOICE. You cannot be gay or straight from birth because a baby hasnt hit puberty and has no way od differentiating any differences between sexes. Neurology is just another way of trying to EXCUSE being gay, there is no excuse, there shouldnt be. If you are gay you are gay! Now according to the bible being homosexual is an abomination, that doesnt matter if its because you have a mental issue or if its a choice.
If you beleive in the bibles teachings, than you should abide by them. Even if its a neurological disorder or whatever they may call it, they still choose to indulge in homosexual acts! I hate to say it but if you are an openly practicing homosexual and you want to be a christian, you are not allowed to commit to any homosexual acts. Technically you arent supposed to have sex unless you want a child. Does ANYONE abide by that? Not many, so if you are gay or having sex with any device that prohibits conception, you are a hypocrite. Now I am not saying you cant do it, you can but you are breaking the laws.
Nobody forces religion on anyone. That is a choice too. If you want to be a christian, than you should abide by the bibles teachings. However if you are gay, have sex often, and beleive in evolution. I think you probably should find another religion to practice, or be an atheist. Like I said, by all means be a christian, you can be a gay christian but you are still a hypocrite.
So quit trying to beat a dead horse. Modern science and religion just dont go together. They simply dont, you can argue with a creationist all day long and you wont get ANYWHERE. Whereas I have learned I can argue with people like you who at every turn want to question my religion, and I wont get ANYWHERE. So instead of preaching what I practice, I keep to myself. I have NO problem with homosexuals, thats your choice, I wont fault you for it. But I am a Christian, and a Traditionalist. So please dont question my religion, as backwards as you may beleive it to be.

Homosexuality is a choice, there is no known genetic factor that codes for homosexuality. However, I can agree with actions and experiences at a young age that can lead to homosexuality, particularly if they are very damaging psychologically.
So 'neurological homosexuality' does not need 'to fit into the bible' as it is not relevant as it does not exist.

The bible does not condemn being gay. It just condemns buggery along with adultery, fornication and bestiality. Today's society seems to regard these practices as normal, but we condemn paedophilia which isn't mentioned in the bible. Paedophilia is also due to neurology, but we ask those so inclined to refrain. The bible asks the same of homosexuals.

Some people want to have the Godly authority to declare who goes to hell and who doesn't. Gays today are treated like the leapers of Biblical times. Small minded men with more ego and mouth than integrity interpret the Bible to hate Witches, Gays, Liberals, Women, Arabs, Jews, and the Roman Church just to name a few. Jesus whom these men claim to follow taught his followers not to judge and to love all people everywhere even if they hate you. Obviously these men do not worship Jesus nor do they follow the teachings in the Bible. God hates few people, and I suspect the ones he hate frequently claim to speak for him.
God loves you.

First of all, I am Bi. And I'm Christian.
The way I see it, there is evidence of sin in the way we are born. In my case, my formative years included me being raped. So my growing up years included a sexualized atmosphere. Not my fault.
But let's say that I have a lot of both male and female hormones in me. I think that is not the way Adam was. But it has manifested over the generations, and some people are born Gay, some are born without limbs, some are born Autistic, all evidence of sin in our bodies.
The Bible explains that we are born in sin, and people typically think that automatically means lying, stealing, swearing, etc. But it's not so. It can also mean physical defects.
At least that's the way I see it.

Christians can't explain why homosexuals are more than three times more likely to commit suicide than their peers, so it has to be something to do with neurology.

Maybe it doesn't, but the bible was written a few thousand years ago and is, therefore, irrelevant to society as it is today.

It doesn't. I don't believe psychology was very far along in the days when the bible was being written.
