NO! i might kill a hundred twelve months previous human little ones with my bear palms if it meant that we could desire to discover a treatment for many cancers or spinal twine injuries! Ovum that are in no way GOING TO BE toddlers could desire to a hundred% be used to further scientific study in to Stem Cells. And once you talk that there are hundreds of fertilized ovum sitting interior the deep freeze of Fertility Clinics which will finally end up in an Incinerator with the aid of fact the couple does not choose the "extra" ovum whilst they have a effective being pregnant... there is not any doubt in my ideas the place those ovum could desire to flow... think of approximately it... Burned as biohazardous waste or Used to probably help treatment maximum cancers and heal spinal twine injuries each and each month a woman does not have a sprint one, she is KILLING AN EGG... Is THAT evil? the actuality that she 'helps' an egg to be flushed from her physique? Then why is it incorrect to apply eggs that could desire to have in basic terms died and been flushed anyhow? Eggs do no longer = human beings! Eggs are in basic terms yet another style of tissue that gets flushed from a woman's physique each and each month... what's the take care of human beings screaming that each and every EGG is a existence as quickly as we 'kill' 12 a year if we don't get pregnant? I say use um with the aid of fact it particularly is a call between a flush or an test!

There is nothing wrong with it. The president of the USA and many religious people are caught up in a battle of ethics and salvation while the rest of the world is pushing major boundries in science and doing some really important work. We are falling behind in that field because there is little research money. stem-cells can be the future of healing peoples' pain and saving lives, but not while uneducated morons are calling it murder.

It isn't going as fast as it should because stupid people have been trying to ban it.
There have even been some idiots who think that adult stem cells are somehow OK but that the more promising embryonic stem cells should be destroyed without getting used.
Not to mention that the study showing adult stem cells to be just as promising as embryonic stem cells has been found to be flawed. From what I've heard I suspect it's more than honest mistake.

it depends on how 'ethical' you view it is. Some say that we shouldn't use embryos to research because it's 'inhumane', but at the same time we are destroying embryos after invitro fertilisation because we no longer require them. But, because the embryo is an organism in the very early stages of develpment, they are not yet complex enough to be thought of as 'human beings' - just a cluster of eggs.
But, new techniques of developing stemcells are constantly being devised, and the use of embryos in stem cell research may soon not be needed at all, and thus there won't be any ehtical considerations anymore.
edit: btw, i'm pro-stem cell research

It all depends on what you are researching? Do you believe scientists are doing it for your benefit? Like all controversial research, they use the words 'cure' and 'cancer' and everybody falls into line. But there is no point in trying to hold it back, it's like holding up the sky. It's like all scientific research, it can be used as a negative and a positive tool.

Nothing as long as it is ethical and doesn't involve foetuses or embryos. Stem-cell research could involve stem cells from human organs that are known to contain a repository of stem cells such as the skin and hair follicle, or placental blood since the placenta is discarded as human waste.
The human hair follicle is a good source of stem cells:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/4378941.stm
Scientists have cloned mice from hair follicle stem cells:
http://www.healthfinder.gov/news/newsstory.asp?docID=601864
NOT that I condone animla/human cloning - I DON'T - just pointing this out to show how hair follicle stem cells could have versatility as they are what is called as pluripotent, just as with embryonic stem cells, they could potentially support the growth of different organs:
http://www.metamouse.com/RMH-2006.Cell%20Cycle.pdf
Hair follicles as a source of stem cells are readily available.

NOTHING, whatsoever. All of it shows great promise for medical advances. Especially embryonic stem-cell research, from which ALL of those **mindless**, inane, and bone-ignorant restrictions should immediately be removed, forever!

Nothing - as long as we're talking adult stem cells. They show much more promise of cures than embryonic cells without the harmful turmors that plague the embryonic field.

Like Robots. If robots are introduced in the place of man what will happen to mankind. Only few people will be in the world and all others will be Robots. Do you want this to be happen to you. Can you allow your place to be replaced by a Robot.

As Sam Harris put it, with advances in biological technology, each cell in my body has potential for human life. Every time I scratch my nose I create a holocaust of potential human life.
So human zygotes, with their 150 cells, no brain, not even any neurons, doesn't create any sort of moral difficulties.
