Just got speeding ticket in chesterfield VA I was going 67 on 45 didnt even realized that before it was too late... cop was alright didnt gave me reckless driving Now im wondering how much my speeding ticket will be and also now i seriously consider to buy radar detector!!! So any ideas witch one is best at the moment???

So now that you have given us an "excuse" for your speeding, you want us to recommend a product that will help you continue this reckless behavior without getting caught. The cheapest solution to your problem is the simplest. Don't speed!

Well if he gave ya a ticket, it should show the fine for the offense. ALL states are different, but in Massachusetts the fine is $50.00 for the first ten miles per hour over the posted speed limit. Then it is $10.00 for each MPH after the first ten. Radar detector cost and doesn't always work. Depends on what kind of Radar the cops are using. And let me say this. If I were the cop stopping you, and you had a radar detector, that would be a guaranteed ticket. The detector would only show me that you make a habit of speeding. Why else would you need one? And radar detectors ONLY work with radar. What if the cop is clocking you. Like driving behind you. Well you're screwed either way. I would suggest you slow down.

If you buy a radar detector, it will cost more than putting a 'cruise control' mechism into your car if you currently do not have one. And if you do have one, you are a ninny for not using it. You can use the cruise control for speeds as low as 35 to 45 mph. Then you will never go over the speed limit. Pay your fine and use the controls like a good driver.

Well, you can't get one. Radar and Laser detectors are illegal in the state of Virginia. You would have just gotten another ticket, and your detector would have been taken away.

... the price depends on the state ... in AZ 20+ over is criminal... and u get a nice fine or like a day in jail.... radar detectors... are alright... but are illegal in some states.... so look... but escort is a good brand ... but u'll blow a nice 300 $ for a good one... n if ur not payin that ... its probably better to go buy a good luck charm

Radar detectors are a waste. If the officer keeps his/her radar on standby they don't put out a signal. So the detector won't pick up on the radar until the officer flips it off of standby. By that time its to late because the officer has the speed locked in on his radar unit.
If the officer leaves his radar unit off standby then you will pick up the signal.
Besides I believe they are illegal in Virginia.

look on your copy of the ticket it should tell you. Call the local JP or municipal court.
