Yes - Ammachi is defenitely a true and living saint-
Mātā Amritanandamayī Devi also known by her followers as 'Amma', 'Ammachi' or 'Mother', is an Indian spiritual leader revered by her followers as a saint. She is a widely respected humanitarian and called by some 'the hugging saint'. She had many mystical experiences as a child. Since 1981, she has been teaching spiritual aspirants all over the world. She founded a worldwide organization, the Mata Amritanandamayi Mission Trust, which is engaged in many spiritual and charitable activities. From humble beginnings she undertook a journey to attain "universal motherhood".
Her hugging is said to be 'novel': Maya Warrier of the University of Wales claims in an article in Modern Asian Studies that...
..It is unconventional because of the numerous socially-recognized restrictions on physical contact between people, particularly between men and women. In the Mata’s case, she embraces men and women equally. Besides, physical contact between guru (or god) and devotee is usually known to be an expression of inequality between the two. The devotee touches the guru’s feet, thereby acknowledging his/her lowly status compared to that of the guru, or alternatively, the devotee prostrates him/herself on the ground before the guru, and the guru, reciprocally, blesses the latter by placing his/her hand briefly on the devotee’s head. The Mata, by embracing devotees individually, appears to do away with such extreme forms of inequality.
Mata Amritanandamayi Math executes various charitable and humanitarian projects. We Amma's followers believe in her powers to perform miracles.-

Please do not use '..chi' Amma is enough or Maa.
Any one can talk about saints or great people, but none should assess from any photographs or slanders or roumers. The presence of Saints would reveal it for both good and bad people. Visit or visualise in mind and assess yourself is the quality of great people. Following others comments is not gentle whether optimistic or pessimistic. Others comments is 'slander' or 'scam' only. So far this Maa has never interfered to any others affairs - political or social matters and she has given solace to only those who deserve and asked for at her place. Do not comment invisible powers or persons. See things by the pracitcally and logically justifiable spectacles.

For first i want to take a look of her discipoles!
But i hope that Gods don't send us so much saints and divine incarnations because we can't make so much difference and see the truth!
What do you think? Now are incarnated 2....10 Vishnu's, 2.........10 Durga's, 2............10 Jesus's....etc
Why?
Where is the true one?
Maybe if Vishnu were on earth now, he whould say just, "I am like you, an discipol, a bakty, I love and that all..."!
I am hindu, and my jugdment to make such differents are just in my intim prayers for feel answers. And a little rattionality!!!
May lord Ganesh give us Nirmala Vidya!
Namaste!

I am beyond believing that Amma is a saint. I just know without a doubt that She is a True Master. She was born enlightened, a Pure Soul. She is what's called "purna avatar." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Purna_avatar
My 18 years of studying spirituality and religions and reading about past Indian saints, sages and yogi's allowed me to recognize a True Master when I see one. I've known Her for two years and have spent many hours in Her presence observing Her actions.
All I have to say is that Amma is the purest form of Love in a human body. Just the mere sight of Her with my own eyes makes my heart overfill to the brim with a river of Love. It is so beautiful to feel that it just makes me cry in Her presence. She does not even have to look or touch me at all in order for me to feel that Divine Love in my heart. That is extremely powerful. It is beyond words to be able to explain that experience because the mind does not understand the heart.
Amma has true unconditional love for all whom come to Her. I see people of all walks of life, different social classes, all religions, even those without beliefs, those whom worship money, and so on have received Amma's darshan. They all recognize Divine Love when they see it, just like I do.
She does just more than love each one of us through Her darshans. She really does go out there and take action to taking care of all of Her children that need help, those whom live in shacks, those whom are hungry, those whom need work, need food, education, and assistance for those whom are disabled or widows. Amma has done so much humanitarian work and does it so effectively, much better than the government can do without wasting a penny.
She refuses to sleep in a bed in a hotel, would sleep on the floor when travelling to set an example of Her teachings. She would refuse food if someone is hungry, would feed them first.

Amma doesnt ask anybody to believe in Her. She says to believe in yourself is enough. But to respond to your question, yes She is. But its for you to find out who She is to you, without being judgemental and try to find out who She really is. Its almost impossible for people like us to understand Amma, cause She is not like us. She is a Self Realized master, and we are not. not yet. maybe never, who knows! But if She can at least teach you selfless Love & selfless service, thats a giant step!
Peace!
