I honestly see nothing wrong with it. I'm bi and I've been raised to beleive in God and I just can't see him shunning his children because of who they fall in love with. I was taught that God has your life planned out before you're even born, so that means that God PLANS who you fall in love with right? Besides, even though God told all the people who wrote the Bible to write, we cannot leave out that it was written by MAN. And well being gay wasn't exactly popular back then...

I know that no matter if I end up with a man or a woman that I'll still love and worship God regardless I just want to know people's opinions.

Sweetheart it matters not what other People think about this, but it does matter what God thinks about it, and God's view is clear in his word the Bible, you might want to consider the reason why God destroyed Sodom and Gemorrah, those things were practiced widely there, you might also read (Romans1:25-29) And if you are trying to alude to the Bible not being trustworthy because men wrote it,even so, it was written by God's inspiration, so his are the thoughts expressed in it he wouldn't let men write their own ideas in there.you say God has your life planed out before you're born, are you trying to, with that, say that you have no choice over your life? That is not true, firstly you are confusing love with lust, those two are completely different, and you do have the choice who you let yourself fall in love with,Love for someone is a choice, no God does not plan out your life in a way that you have no say or control in it, you have free will all of us do, and wether or not being gay was popular back in Bible times has no bearing on the way God feels about people being gay, If you truly Love and worship God the way you say you do, then, his view will be most important to you, and it is his opinion you should seek not other peoples, or even your own,for human opinion is fickle and biased you cannot trust it. But of course you can reason your way out of listening to God's word the way you are doing, but that will not makle it right will it? And is that truly out of love for God or yourself, is it worship to God?

If you have a hard time believing the verses about homosexuality, here is a proof that does not use bible verses that are in question (romans or corinthians).

1. In Genesis God states that a marriage is between a husband and wife. That the man will leave his parents and cleave to his wife and they shall become one flesh.

2. Jesus refers to the old testament (Genesis) in talking about divorce, he states that marriage is between a man and a wife.

3. Paul defines marriage as a relationship between a man and a woman (he may have referred to Jesus's words, or to Genesis).

4. Sex outside of marriage is wrong (fornication).

These are all indisputable facts. No one can disagree with them.

If all of these are true then homosexuality is wrong.

Marriage as defined by the God of the Universe, His one and only Son, and the apostle to the gentiles, is 1 man and 1 woman becoming one flesh. Sex outside of this model is fornication which is wrong.

Nowhere in the bible is marriage defined as anything other than a man and woman coming together and becoming one flesh.

Homosexuality like all sins is equal in God's eyes. (Romans 6:23 for the wages of sin is death) All sin = Death. There is no murder is -200 points, lying is -10 points, sleeping with your neighbor's wife is -100 points. All sin = death, ALL SIN is the same in God's eyes, filthy rags.

Of course you can be a christian and a homosexual. You can be a chrisitian and be a gossiper, you can be a christian and be a murderer, you can be a christian and a thief. Jesus welcomes all to come to him. The catch though is that if you are truly in the presence of Jesus, your life will change, and that is apparent by your fruit.

What I really dislike is fellow christians bashing on homosexuality like it is the sin of all sins. It is wrong, and if you are a christian and you are following the homosexual life style you are missing out on some good stuff God has for your life. The same thing though can be said about anyone who is trapped in a repetitive sin. If a man is cheating on his wife, or a woman who gossips all the time, or a man who watches pornography. God has so much he wants to give us, and he gives such good gifts. The question is are you willing to trust God and follow hard after his ways?

I wouldn't expect too much support from the established church on this one. I am Bi too. The way I see it, the closeness I have with God is due to my willingness to forsake myself and how much I value this world and it's views for the rest I get in Jesus Christ.

I spend more time alone with God, and they get their love from each other and their 'functions'.

To me, I get the better of the choices and better time spent. I am so encouraged to do the same throughout the rest of my life. I love God, and we do things that I never hear any of the so called 'normal Christians' talk about.

So don't look at them so much, they have chosen friends over God in many cases.

They are simply perpetuating an ancient prejudice in the name of honoring tradition and obeying religious teachings they believe to be true and worthy of being followed. The inescapable bottom line, however, is that homosexuality harms no one. Never has. It is not immoral--though persecuting someone unjustly certainly is.

There are lots of gay and bi Christians. Seek out their fellowship if you can, but don't be discouraged when you meet the closed-minded sort of Christian. They do not represent all of Christianity. Many hetero Christians accept you for who you are, and more are heeding the call of reason and compassion every day.

As Christians we follow the bible which is as we believe the word of god.
1 Corinthians 6: 9&10
Romans 1:27
To follow the bible we can not just use or accept the bits we like or fit in with todays ideas .

One can Claim to be Christian but being a Christian means " Following" in christ's footsteps. You cannot be Gay and Christian, simply Put. The Apostle Paul under inspiration said : “Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor MEN who lie with MEN, nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom.” He then showed that first-century Christians made necessary personality changes, adding: “Yet that is what some of you were.” Notice, were, not are.—1 Corinthians 6:9-11.
That rule has not changed..

Let's say you're in a marriage and you fall in love with some other guy. Does that mean it's ok to divorce your husband so you can be with this other guy? Does that mean that God planned for you to fall in love with that person so you could get divorced? Of course not!

God has guidelines for our sexual expression - sex is only to be enjoyed in the context of marriage and marriage since the beginning of time with Adam and Eve has been between one man and one woman.

Loving someone of the same sex is not wrong! But loving someone and having sex with them is not the same thing.

I'm Catholic, and I feared about being bi, but then got over it and have the same thinking as you do. God can't be that bad, or shallow to "disown" me for loving someone of the same sex. It's still LOVE and he wants LOVE to reign, right?? So I really don't understand all the gay bashing either.

But you know, there is that city of Sodom....
that really scared the hell out of me!!!

As far as the bible being written by man is concerned, that's an assumption on your part that you have not proven. The christian view is that it's Gods revelation to mankind. Sure it was written by men. But the scriptures say that those men were divinely inspired by God. That means that though they wrote the books of the bible, the very thoughts did not come ultimately from them. God put the thoughts in their mind. They just wrote them down. Stephan Hawking has been called the Einstein of the 21st century. He has written many books on physics. But Stephan Hawking has Lew Gehrigs disease. He is a quadropelegic. He can't physically write anything. He dictates to a secretary and that secretary does the actual physical writing. But could we say that the secretary wrote the book just because that secretary physically wrote it. No. because the thoughts didn't come from the secretary. It's the same thing with the men who wrote the bible.
If you are going to reject what the bible says to you then you'd better make sure it isn't the word of God. If it is and you one day stand before God to give an account of yourself you're not going to be able to say, "I didn't know what was expected of me" because Gods revelation was here but you just chose of your own free will to ignore it.
Why do I think the bible was not ultimately written by men?
The Bible has the signature of God attached to it in many ways. One of those ways is Bible prophecy. The old testament has 333 prophecies about the first coming of Jesus Christ and 456 specific details about his life(all written between 400 and 2200 years before he was born). The 4 gospels in the new testament(Mathew, Mark, Luke & John) tell the story of Jesus. Had those 4 gospel writers chosen to not write their gospels, we could still have re-created the whole life of Christ just from the old testament(all written before he was born). In fact, that is how the christians preached the gospel in the first 20-30 years after the death of Christ. They preached it from the old testament because the new testament was in the process of being written. The story of Christ is all there in the Old Testament including some details about His life that are not even mentioned in the New Testament. Man sees history like a person sees the Rose Parade sitting in the stands. The floats that have already gone by him are like the past. The floats in front of him are like the present. The floats still coming are like the future. These prophets in the old testament who wrote about Jesus Christ seemed to be able to see history the way you would see the Rose Parade from a helicopter. They seemed to be able to see the end from the beginning. That tells me that though they were writing these things down the info was not ultimately coming from them but from a higher source because man simply doesn't see history that way. Also, the bible has amazing knowledge about many scientific principals long before these principals were discovered. Seventeen times in the old testament the bible says that God is "stretching the heavens". For thousands of years bible scholar struggled with what that could possibly mean. Then in 1929 Edwin Hubble discovered that the universe was expanding. The bible told us that long ago.
No other religion or Holy Book has this kind of knowledge. All this tells me that these prophets in both the old and new testament were not nutcases but true prophets of God. Therefore , it has nothing to do with what was popular back then.
You seem to think that God made you that way. Let's examine that viewpoint. I assume you're saying that homosexuality is in the genes. There's never been one iota of proof of that(at least that I've seen). They've done identity twin studies since the 1950's. One study in Australia has almost 15,000 identical twins they've studied. Everytime identical twins are born they follow them up until they are adults to see if one of them becomes gay. If homosexuality is in the genes then whenever one is gay then the other should be gay 100% of the time(since identical twins have identical genes). The studies have shown the opposite. Whenever one is gay, at least 70% of the time the other is heterosexual. On the 15,000 twin study I think the results were when one is gay the other is heterosexual 78% of the time. Also, in this day and age, everyone seems to believe in evolution. Evolution is fueled by natural selection(survival of the fittest). Another way to describe natural selection is just to say that whatever species is best adapted to pass on it's genes will survive. The species that are least able to pass on their genes will go extinct. By that theory, homosexuals should have gone extinct long ago since they don't have natural kids of their own and therefore don't pass on their genes. But it doesn't matter anyhow because I've already shown you that it isn't in the genes. I think you're getting your scientific evidence for homosexuality from hollywood.
Therefore, the real question is what does the bible say about homosexuality? Rather than answer that I'll let you read an article about it. http://www.carm.org/issues/homosexuality.htm
The christian doctrine is that we are to love the sinner and hate the sin. When it comes to homosexuality, that means to love the homosexual but hate his homosexuality. You love the gay person hate his lifestyle. But I still say that biblically the term gay christian is an oxymoron. It's like saying dry water or a married bachelor. There is no such thing biblically as a gay christian. Does God love gays? Yes, He sent his Son to die for all of them. Does He accept the lifestyle? No! Will He judge them now and in eternity? Yes!

A guy asked a similar question earlier and look at some of the things they said to this poor guy. Quite hateful to say the least and these are supposed to be Christians. I felt sorry for him. No-one deserves to be treated like that.
