i know that ringworm is tranferable to humans and cats...but how long [as in days, weeks, months.] does it normally take until the other cats and humans will also get it??
same question for the ear mites from cat to cat.

ringworm has nothing to do with her ears...ear mites do.ringworm has to do with her hair falling out with the skin attached causing her scalp to be bloody. and there scabby looking stuff under all her fur but only in the specific area...go read my other question before answering please.

both are spread very easily and quickly but I still believe its not ring worm. Its either ear mites or an allergy. Check your other cats for dirty ears. Ear mites leave poop in the cats ears and they get really dirty. Here are some good sites to check out. Hope every thing turns out OK.

All of the cats can get ear mites, all of the cats can get ringworm (if that's what it is), nothing is going to get transferred through nursing, but it can still be passed between all of the cats. Ringworm can easily be passed from cats to humans and from cats to cats. It may not be ringworm, you have to see a vet. EDIT some cats and some humans won't get ringworm at all, they're just not susceptible. EDIT I'm sorry you're so upset, I really hope you figure this all out.

Both ringworm and mites are quite contagious. In humans, you would have to get the ringworm under your fingernails and actually scratch your own skin to get infected. I don't think it's the same for animals. I know that anti-fungal ointment will treat the ringworm. (On humans you could use Monistat or something for Athlete's Foot) But an animal would lick the ointment off, so that is not a good idea. I wish there was a vet available on here to help you! Call the rescue groups, they may have extra meds they can just give to you (rather than spending a ton of money)

My Fred got one spot of ringworm in the first week of August last year. He leaned against my leg and I got a spot on me there within that first week. ONLY one spot, and only one on him also. I used Monistat 3 which is the same chemical cream they have at the vets, only theirs is a 2% solution and Monistat is a 4% solution. It took a month to clear up on him, and two months to clear up on me.

None of our other 4 cats got it, and neither did my significant other--but then Fred isn't a lap cat, so physical contact was at a minimum.

Can't you call your vet and ask them these questions? That's what they're trained to do, and a call is 'free'.

All your questions should be answered in this website. There are a lot of other sites that can be found by searching for "ringworm".
