I personally love hairless rats, though I have never gotten around to owning one.

They tend to get minor scrapes much easier than furry rats do, but heal quickly & you usually don't need to do anything about the scrapes. I've heard that sometimes they get dry skin but an occasional massage with olive oil is good for this.
When we adopted our hairless girl, the breeder told us that hairless rats have a higher metabolism than normal rats, so they eat more often. Our girl *does* feel significantly warmer than our furry rats do when we snuggle her up to our faces. Her poop smells a bit more, too, but it's not too bad. Not sure if this is typical of hairless but our girl is a *very* picky eater & often when I feed her & her cage-mate, she gives me a look like "What else do ya have?" while her hooded friend happilly munches whatever I give them.
It's best if you keep hairless rats with furry companions, so they have someone warm to cuddle up with.
Our hairless girl is just over a year old now & the worst health problem we've had with her has been an abcess, but that healed so nicely that she doesn't even have a tiny scar. She's never had a myco flare-up although we've had serious myco issues with some of our petshop rats.

I have had a couple of hairless rats and they are not difficult to keep. By all means check the Websites that have been offered to you first. Hairless rats are more sensitive to heat, cold, and lighting. I always kept more litter in my tanks so that they could bury if they were cold. Also kept the tank warm on one end and had one end with low light. Good luck...
