whats with the statistics on the war?

I am constantly hearing about how 70% of Americans are against the war........ If this is true why didn't any ask me how I feel about it? How are any of these statistics accurate? Because they ask 100 people outside of a studio and assume that’s how everyone feels? Did it ever occur to these people that America is home to 300 million people?

This is NOT true, because these polls are inaccurate and some are biased against the USA winning the war on terror and the deep hatred of President George W. Bush!!

That isn't the way it works, and I am surprised you would ask a question.

In order for a poll to be accurate, and most are , usually within 3%, they conduct a poll demographically and ramdomely.

Because they didn't ask you means nothing!

And by the way, Fox's own poll shows the same. Hopefully you might take a statistics course, pretty common in most colleges!

In fact, the latest poll conducted by the Army times of active duty military showed that a clear majority were against the war in Iraq and the same number wondering why we are there!

People make their livings off of polls, so they had better be accurate!

Did it ever occur to you that what you are asking is impossible? You cant even get 1/4 of that number to vote!

All of those polls are weighted for population. That means the bulk of the respondents live in one of the three large populations belts (Boston-Washington, Chicago-Pittsburgh, and San Diego-San Francisco). Most of the rest of the country is passed over in these polls.

Some pole takers do their survey by phone. They will pick areas that vary. Others pick a group knowing what the outcome will be .
