There are several reasons for this. I do not know what is applicable in your case.

1. Job not of your interest but due to compulsion or no other alternative or chance you have to do.
2. Job is monotonous and you get bored.
3. The job just needs observing and no action, no movement, no physical effort but just sitting and watching.

In all above cases you will definitely feel slleepy.
There are ways how to avoid sleep.
- Make a mug of tea/cofee and sip it time to time and finish atleast in one hour.
Keep some low calorie dry item of small pieces and chew it slowly after finishing tea/cofee for another hour.
Leave chair and walk around your seat time to time.
Try to find the item of interest in your job and enjoy
Listen to low volume music of your choice if permitted
Talk to some one on phone and if you can leave your seat and reach to him next table.
go to toilet and see your face in the mirror,

All these can avoid feeling sleepy.

Its so easy to fall asleep at a job, especially if its the same old routine, or starring at a computer screen all day long...Try taking deep breaths and streatching at your desk, or when you start feeling sleepy drink water and go for a short walk to keep the blood moving, chances are its boredom more than fatigue!

probably becuase you're unhappy there. or maybe you're just not getting enough sleep. try to get yourself on to a habit of going to bed and getting up at the same time. eat breakfast in the morning- if you're like most people- its probably happening at around 10 in the morning at 3 in the afternoon. get up from your desk, walk around, get some water- or try new things at this time. if you get in to a boring routine, you will hate it and might as well curl up under your desk.

If you're unable to go to bed earlier and get more sleep, purchase B vitamins, and take them at the beginning of your work shift, and halfway through.
