Islam is one of the most developed and peaceful religion,as compared to others BUT that is in the books and in practice it has no resemblance what so ever with what is laid down in the scriptures. It is also true that a majority of Muslims are peace lovers. The worst irony of this religion is two fold.(1).Hijacking of leadership by the fanatics, extremists and vested interests, and (2.Total surrender and inordinate passivity of followers.Their backwardness and orthodoxy aides and abets in their exploitation by clever and cunning Clerics and Mullahs. In a way, what's happening to Islam right now through out the world may help it cleanse and set it's house in order to at least some extent.Oh,we all shall have a lot to hear about it as now their tails are on fire and would remain so for quite some time to come.

Islam is a peaceful religion its just too many Muslims who corrupt It. Im a Muslim that would never hurt anyone or attack anyone for there beliefs. I respect all religions as long as there not hurting anyone. But unfortunetly most muslims are too extreme and have no respect for other beliefs.

don't get me started lol! in the quraan it says that no human being should ever be described as non muslim and yet they try to teach things to, as they say, non muslims. Islam was created by a wealthy merchant who later died of a sickness induced by old age. this man forced a young girl that wasnt even ten to marry him under his law he created. this law that was created was a way for him to be known as a holy man and not as anything bad.

muslims are blind, they do not understand what they are following. this is why they try teaching false ideology. they are lost and doomed unless they open their eyes.

anyone that disagrees with me; these are my thoughts, i have my own mind as you have yours. if any offence has been created here, my apologies. but remember that any thoughts you have that go against my own are in essence your own thoughts. if you are to email me and try to argue you point have some evidence, because i have my own and it's from the quraan and surrah

That is true, especially for muslims that use violence. But in the meantime Christians and others need to stop calling muslims and Islam a violent religion. That would make things a lot more tolerable for a lot more muslims.

The overwhelming majority of Muslims are law-abiding and peaceful--which is what their religion teaches.

They make a point of stressing that to non-Muslims in order to counter the fals propaganda of religious bigots who are the only ones claiming that Muslims are not peaceful.

The Muslim community has its share of extremists who spear and attack anyone who disagrees with their fanatical views. The same is true of Christianity--those are the bigots I was referrig to. In the first case, these extremists are no more true Muslims thanthe bigots are true Christians.

Most Muslims are peaceful. Most Christians are peaceful. It's only when someone who is hungry for power gets involved that you get "religion in service to kleptocracy," in Jared Diamond's eloquent phrase.

Religion is a very convenient way to sell wars to people, whether those people are followers of Mohammed or Jesus.

Hello, Fruitcake:

If you haven't heard, Islam is only peaceful if you don't resist their attempts to convert you. And there are those who have called a Jihad against the world.

God will help us and there is a way of escape, but The Book predicted this dilemma and warns us. See: "The Rise, Decline, and Death of Islam in Bible Prophecy" at www.revelado.org/islam.htm

not sure they are trying to teach that, but i think they are embarassed by the fanatics and try to justify their faith of choice by telling others that the crazy ones are not the majority, and muslim faith for most people does not promote violence and hatred.

The same reason Christians do.

It's largely a matter of timing. 150 years ago Christians talked a lot about how against slavery some of them were.
