I few mintues ago I asked a questin about getting into heaven without knowing Jesus. There were some really good answers.

I'm now wondering if people from all forms of religion will enter the same heaven as long as they are true to their beliefs?

So if I choose to be a buddist and am true to it, will that mean that I'll be accepted into heaven?

Basically, I'm assuming that I don't have to be Christian to get into heaven.

So many narrow minded views, so sad. Not everyone has been exposed to Christianity, but most of you respond as if we all have. What about the many who have not. Very dissapointed in most of the answers.

Jerrid,

There are many excellent christian answers here, so I'm not going to repeat them. I would like to re-emphise a point made here by others though.

That is; The bottom line is either you are correct or Jesus Christ is correct. You both cant be right.

Since He said that He is the only way to heaven, and you are assuming that you dont have to be a christian to get there, obviously one of you is wrong.

Jesus said God must be worshipped in Spirit AND Truth. So being sincere is not enough. (according to Him).

Now the *64,000 dollar question is; Are you willing to bet your eternal future on your "assumption" that you know more about it than He does?

One other point. Getting into Heaven isnt even the ultimate goal of the christian life.
Jesus said, "This is Eternal Life; that they may KNOW you, the one True God."

You see Jerrid, its true that eternal life IS truly eternal in the sense that it never ends, but the main purpose of eternal life & heaven is KNOWING God in an intimate relationship for all of eternity.
Merely being in a place called "heaven" for an unending period of time is no substitute for THAT.

Being wrong about ones religious beliefs, no matter how sincere means one does not WANT a relationship with God on HIS terms.
So, it is not so much wether God will "let" you into heaven anyway, as it is that you dont WANT to be there. Because if a person is not willing to submit to Gods will concerning a persons relationship with Himself, how could they ever be "happy" in heaven?
Loving God, and "knowing" Him begins with submitting to what He has ordained. (Coming to Him by way of His Son, and all that the Son has accomplished for us on the Cross).

So Jerrid,
Who is correct? You or Jesus Christ?

Basically, you ARE 'assuming'!
Yes you do have to be a Christian to go to heaven or it's a Southern dive!
Christians are Christs followers. And we believe all the teachings of His.
You must know that He died and rose again for your sins.
And have a personal relationship with Him - to go to heaven and be gloriously with Him, The Heavenly Father and the Holy Spirit Forever!

sorry to burst your bubble, but your statements all contradict each other. You can't believe in one thing, and then say that another completely different thing will happen to you. If you are Buddhist how can you believe in a 'Christian' heaven, let alone believe that you'll go to it? If you are atheist, you don't believe in heaven at all, so there's no way that you could believe that you are going there. In saying that you believe you'll go to heaven, you are choosing Christianity over any other religion that you might think you belong to.

Of course, this is all assuming that you are referring to a 'Christian' view of heaven. Because there are many different representations and concepts of heaven for all different religions. And some religions don't even have a 'heaven' at all.

Jesus is the only way
Eph 2:8-9
Matt 24-25
John 3:15-21
Acts 4:12
Romans 1,3,6,10

note:
nowhere in the Old or New Testiments does God approve of worshipping Idols or other gods.

The assignment to heavenly life is reserved for "the little flock", "the first fruits" to God. These are given the responsibilities of reigning as Kings & Priests alongside Christ, in God's heavenly kingdom. The first thing they will do, united thusly, will be to destroy all current willful opposers of God, especially organizations that are "gathered together" against him in purpose & action. Then, efforts to bring complete restoration of the earth --& of humanity-- to perfection, will ensue.

This is certainly ideal, for these will help all the people. These King-Priests have lived through ALL kinds of possible experiences. Thus , they have developed the wisdom needed, from which to draw a large amount of very valuable: empathy, compassion, & merciful attention.

God's purpose for earth & humanity must be brought to pass. And it certainly will be!

After 1,000 years --during which the dead will be resurrected to earthly life, and will be taught God's requirements, & given opportunity to make their decision as to whether they will cooperate, or not... Then the heavenly class will help when the 'final test' period takes place, and finally Satan --& all of his then-current followers-- will be thrown "into the Lake of Fire, the Second Death" --total destruction without hope of any resurrection.

So... one has to be assigned --BY GOD-- a place in His heavenly government, in order to go to heaven. The Jews never believed in any of the dead going to heaven. Jesus Christ is the one who first introduced the idea.

(Can you imagine putting people into such responsible positions, who either know nothing --or, have been seriously misinformed-- about you, or, your purposes, or, principles? It doesn't make sense, does it...?)

Dude, there is no "Christian" heaven, no "Muslim" heaven, no "Buddhist" heaven. There is just heaven (whatever that may be). This is the place where ALL the righteous people go.

There are many verses in not only the Bible but also the Koran and many other religious writtings of various religions that will support this. It sounds like you are searching for the truth. If you seek you will find, and the truth that you find will set you free. One of the things it will set you free of is organized religion.

There are lies and truths in every tradition. Someone who is in tune with GOD will know what these are.

For the time being re-read your Bible from Genisis to Revelations and then read the Koran, and all other religious materials you can get your hand on (Hindu, Buddhist, etc.) Good luck my friend.

Jesus is the only doorway to heaven.

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

In Christ,

If one keeps hearing JESUS calling his spirit, and ignores, no belief will excuse him. If one's religion claims that something evil is good and something good evil, one will have to give account according to what is truly just, and not just by what part and parcel he signed up for lifelong.

Why do you want to be a thing you are so unsure of that you need an okay from the DIVINE JUDGE for? What's the point of such a CHRIST-ditching manouvre? You have some psychological stigma that makes you stubbornly reject CHRIST for something - anything - other than HIM of WHOM you have the greatest hunch of veracity.

I know an endless slew of guys that are "convinced" by their own stubborn lust that they may touch young girls, seduce other men's wives, etc. Many of them borrow the term "karma", and say that this is their belief. It is for them an excuse to be morally irresponsible. They also speak a lot of reincarnation. Many of them, in fact, romanticize with being buddhist, but even Gautama himself would probably say that they were nothings - even though he himself is famous for trying to reach nirvanna (the state of self-annihilation).

Mr x, ever heard of islam? I know what the quran and hadiths say. muhammad said that if a man has some of his garment dragging longer than his ankles, he'll burn in hell.

And it was those pseudo-gnostics that claimed that there were bouncers that riddle you to answer life-saving skill-testers. If one enters a state of lust, he must be saved. Until he exits it, motifying it, he is unable to host True Love in his heart - and without perfect Love, none may enter the Eternal Abode of LOVE HIMSELF. Any who hate LOVE HIMSELF have no true love at all.

I don't know the beliefs of other religions, but I know that Christians don't just need to be strong in belief, but give up your life to The Trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit). And be true to God and not only your beliefs.

My precious dear one: In the book of Acts we find"for there is no other name given among men, whereby we must be saved". Christ is the answer, Christ is salvation& he "is the reasurrection & the life".

now if you don't believe in the Christian Bible, think on this. did 40+ men, write of the same common salvation throughout different periods of time, by coincedince?

Jesus is alive,,& "God is love"...
"For the GIFT of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."Romans 5:8-12,,,Please read the book of Romans ,,chapter 10 tells , plainly, how to be saved, & l John ch 5:13 tells us we can KNOW,, & also: "& ye shall know the truth & the truth shall set you free." Jesus IS the truth..What have you got to lose if you put your trust in HIM. ?

But don't take MY word for it or anybody else's for anything..go to the Bible,,get the answer for yourself..& get grounded in the word of God. You'll never be sorry!
