The braces aren't the problem, it's the reason for needing the braces. When I was little, my mother neglected to send me to the dentist, so I'm reaping the rewards now. I have TMJ due to an alignment of jaw and I was assured braces would help, so why doesn't anyone cover this painful condition and let people get the help they need to make the pain stop? What else is there to do?

HAVE YOU CONSULTED AN ORTHODONTIST YET. MAKE SURE WHEN CHOOSING ONE THAT HE/SHE SPECIALIZES IN TMD ALSO. SOMETIMES EVEN WITH BRACES TMD IS HARD TO RESOLVE. CHECK REFERENCES AND GET SEVERAL OPINIONS BEFORE YOU DECIDE.

DO YOU HAVE MEDICAL OR DENTAL INSURANCE? DON'T KNOW IF EITHER WILL COVER TMD BUT IT IS WORTH A TRY.

HOPE EVERYTHING WORKS OUT FOR YOU AND YOU CAN GET YOUR PAIN RESOLVED.

If u haved TMJ get Invisalign, its the best thing in the world! I get a new set every 2 weeks, got into the orthodontist so he can check my teeth every month and just gives me 2 more pairs. Its only for 50 weeks! The first day or so u feel some pressure but thats it. Ppl tell me braces kil! Braces, if u have sensitive teeth, like me, can cause permanent marks on ur teeth, invisalign doesnt. Braces u cant eat what ever u want, invisalign u just pop on and off. Braces hurt to get tightened, not invisalign. Everyone with braces always say the wires scratch them and they bleed, not invisalign. Invisalign u cant see, noone knows i have them till i tell them. Someoen told me they were invisable to others but i didnt believ it until i got it. Braces look ugly these dont. My guy told me that braces could take at least 2 yrs. Invisalign 50 weeks, and not lookign ugly! Also I have TMJ with means i guess i grind my teeth and my jaw snaps when i open mouth, and invisalign helps that problem, braces dont. If not for invisalign i would need a night gaurd which costs $500, and if i get braces my teeth shift so i would need at least 2 or 3 and invisalign is only a grand more (i think it was 5,000 as opposed to $4000 with barces). Wow, i should like make a commercial for them or something!

i had a minor case of tmj and once i got braces it i have not heard the clicking once. i guess it lines up you teeth so the correct teeth are touching when u chew. it works wonders just hope braces are the only thing u need and get clear brackets they irritate ur lips less than metal and metal will stain ur teeth and u dont wont that on front teeth. braces are not a big deal u can proably do the invisaline

I went to a chiropractor for my neck which was out of alignment. The amazing thing is that my TMJ stopped and I had it for years. He wasn't even expecting this, and neither was I, but I was sure glad. Yes it would be nice if this was covered. It is very irritating.

I have a dis-aligned jaw and I guarantee you braces wont fix that problem. Only one way to align a jaw is to rip the cartilage from the bone structure and have it grow back straight!

definite! some think of its lovable which you have braces. In 2 years you will have large str8 teeth and thats continuously a plus. purely continuously placed on your retainer everynite!!!!! and that i recommend it. Oh and by utilising the way you probable do not wanna kiss all of us for a minimum of a million month because of the fact your teeth sense like **** and harm once you consume a french fry.

i know it sucks but if it's the only thing that will help, do it. you'll be so happy in the long run. if cost is an issue, try going to a university dental school. they basically cut the costs in half and do just as good.
