Alcohol prevents Paxil working properly, it does not have a "multiplying effect" with SSRIs the way it does with barbiturates.

Talk to your doctor, ask him about the new drugs that reduce cravings so that you stop drinking and let the medication work.

Personally, Paxil didn't help me at all. I got better results from Remeron at night which aided in my sleep. Today I take OTC St. John's wort and fish oil. The results I've gotten from supplements have been immediate and dramatic with no side effects.

Most likely you'll pass out without being able to distinguish it from being loaded. In other words, you're not going to have a warning. I'm not saying that to scare you. I'm saying that because that's the way it's apt to be.

The real issue is alcohol. You already know that. Alcohol is a depressant. It's not productive that you are take an anti-depressant to counter the depressant alcohol. You do understand that, right?

The thing is, alcoholism sometimes masks other issue such as bipolar or a significant anxiety disorder. There are more effective medications than alcohol if that is the case. You *really* need to get help with the drinking! Probably not the lecture you want to hear, but it is a big *** deal.

An "over dose" , too much of the same drug
is different from a "toxic drug interaction", a lethal combination of drugs.
While both do strange things to your body,
the toxic one is a poison to your systems, that can kill you.

As the two or more combine in your system, it can happen later in your sleep, when you're not able to do anything about it.

This is a serious question you have
and it needs to be asked directly to your Dr.
If he knows you are doing the Vodka, he may choose
to change your prescription.

maybe im misunderstanding but, are you asking about ODing on the paxil? if so, i think you should consider that first off, the dosage you are taking is a safe dose, and as long as you are taking it as prescribed, you should be okj. the ALCOHOL is what will kill you sister.get some help, there are people willing to hel. also, know that alchocol is a depressant , and will also agrvate anxiety( usually the day after). so...if you got off the booze, chances are your reasons for being on paxil may diminish as well
all the best.
