My husband and I picked up an old 16 mm military camera at a yard sale today. We're hoping to find out if it has a resale value to a collector, or what the history is of this type of camera. It is made my Bell & Howell Co. The metal id tag on the camera says G.S.A.P Camera 16 mm, 24 volts. It came in the original wooden box along with a timer that says "U.S. Army Air Corps." Any ideas? Thanks!

24 volts? Sounds like it belongs ia plane to me! Look up air surveillance photography, WW2....could be something from WW2 when they took air photos before D-Day

I just looked up GSAP on acronymfinder, Its GUN SIGHT AIMING POINT. That could be one of the cameras used to get all those air combat shots you see in the old movies. Pretty Neat!

It would depend on the condition of the camera and if it still works. If it was property of US Army Air Corps, it is older that 1947, probably even earlier.

Check for the location of an antique appraiser in your area, particularly one that deals with cameras.
