I shop over the internet all the time...just check the website to see if it is secure...https should be at the front of the web address once you get in the screen with personal info. I would also use a credit card not a debit card...or use paypal if offered.

Sites I use regularly:
Nordstroms
JC Penney
Old Navy
the Gap
Target
Victorias secret

I have ordered from Overstock.com,Amazon,Peruvian Maca,,and others I can't remember. You can go on line to rip off report.com and search for the company you're ordering from.It will show you complaints others have had with them if there are any.I recently went to the grocery store and bought a Master Card gift card. You can use it on line without giving out your bank info and they are easy use.I like those and plan on using them from now on,because it's safer.I never had to wait very long for any thing except the Maca and it was back ordered a few months so they sent 2 free bottles. It shouldn't take longer than a week from any where in the U.S. but some times it does.

I have purchased (and even sold )through use of the internet for several years now, totaling a couple of hunderd purchases. Every one has been positive (with the exception of one purchase through Ebay, and even then it was someone dragging their heels about shipping. (Remember, when you deal with sites like Ebay, you are dealing with individuals). I have ordered through Sears, Wal-mart, And many little speciality sites. I always use Paypal, or if dealing with a company like sears or wal-mart, a credit card. I never use a debit card anytime, as they are the easiest to steal account info. from. I will only use secured sites. I have never had a problem, but just to be a little extra safe, I change all my passwords every couple months. Everything has always been received properly, with shipping quick and efficient. (Probably a good average S/H time for me is about 5-6 days, personal sellers, such as Ebay, usually take a few days longer).

I've shopped on the internet a lot. I have never used my bank details to pay except to set up an account through paypal. Always check the site out thoroughly before you order. Don't order from just anyone. If the site doesn't have a secure checkout with an https:// at the beginning of the url, don't use it. I'm always real careful about who I order from online, and about 75% of the places I order from online are major companies. I've never had a problem with everything not being shipped, but check the website before you order and see if there is an area to contact customer service in the event that you do not recieve everything. You can even try e-mailing customer support before you place your order to have your questions answered. If at any point you do not feel comfortable about the vendor, or it's associates who returned your e-mail, DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM. The amount of time delivery takes always depends on the amount of time it takes the company to process and ship your order, distance, shipping method, and possibly even stock issues (such as the order not being processed due to them not having the item). Most sites give you a receipt and an order number that you can print out after you place your order. If you have trouble with your order, or if you just want to check the status of your order, contact customer service and provide them with your name and order number, then ask your question. I've ordered from a number of sites. It really depends on what you're looking for in order for me to answer the question of what sites I've ordered from. I'd have to give you a list as long as this paragraph in order to accurately answer that one, so I'm not going to :). As far as my experiences, I've only had one bad experience from a seller on e-bay who sold CD's. I ordered the CD with a 1 week shipping UPS, and in four days still hadn't seen a shipping confirmation or a withdrawal from my account from paypal, so I was beginning to wonder what was going on. I contacted their customer service department and found out that the CD was on backorder and that it could take up to a month before it would ship. Needless to say, I canceled my order and went elsewhere. I hope this helps. Happy shopping!

Welcome to the new age of shopping. So long as you order from a secure site, you have nothing to worry about. A site that accepts paypal is always a go. Make sure the site has a privacy policy regarding the information you submit to them. I usually order from the sites i know and recognize - amazon.com, overstock.com, ebay (paypal only). Most major sites are great about their shipping, giving you tracking info and making sure it arrives when they promise at the time of order. All my experiences with ordering stuff online have been nothing but positive. Just remember security!

Several million people shop online every year and it's growing. I shop at a number of stores, Blair, Amazon, Barnes & Nobel but these are well known. The majority of people selling are honest but there are crooks also. Most sites will tell you how long it will be.
