Of course, Adam and Eve. Eve didn't wait around for Adam to think about eating the fruit. She then persuaded Adam to do the same. She was fearless (of God, even) like Scarlett and had marketing skills (remember the good Georgia pine wood that Scarlett knew would sell). You make me want to read that book again. Scarlett was a bad person but you had to admire her. She shot that man dead and proceeded to make a dress. That's a woman.

bInteresting question. Scarlett O'Hara would be Noah, because she was a survivor against heavy odds. Rhett would be Moses, I think. He was a practical leader; also he was connected with water from babyhood on up. Like Moses encouraged the Jews, Rhett encouraged reluctant Southerners to exchange their unsatisfactory lives for new and better ones.

I've read both. The bible, or at least the one version of it that I read all the way bloody through, reflected the genius writers of the time of Scotsman James I, bless his gay heart, but, while Miss Mitchell wrote GWTW for the crowd who could never forget the Lost Cause, it was an easier read. Remember, Scarlett was a belle who fell into bed with three husbands while lusting after her only true friend's husband. In this tale you seek biblical parallels. Who am I to disagree?

Both seemed rich, wise, but also selfish and individualistic.

Why does it matter and who has time for those kind of comparisons? There is too many more serious things we need to compare these days.
