I had mine put on at age 20 and it took me a total of 18 months. My husband had his at age 22 and took right around the same amount of time. It was so worth it I would do it again in a minute!

not sure i just got braces in april and i have not seen a big change yet. maybe because i always lose a bracket before my next appt. but not this time. well my teeth are straight now just need to pull them together and i have not ever been doing it a year yet and i heard once i get the powerchain the gaps will close fast. i'm 22

No. I had them done 20 later than you and it was the usual timeframe 24 months.

Nah - my sister 22 and has had them for near 18 months. Dentist says another 2months and they can come off. And my sis needs heaps more work done (ie surgery). 18months max

How long you need braces depends on the severity of your case, and not your age.

everyone is different. the older you are, the longer it will take, but my friend was about 16, and had hers for about 6-7 years.
