Apparently fish don't have eyelids, so what I heard they do is go into this "dormamnt" state, in which they don't move, and the color of their scales/eyes fades a little. Sharks, on the other hand, minus a few species, need to keep swimming 24/7 so they never sleep. But they do swim sluggishly during the day to conserve energy for the night, their prime hunting time.

ok fish do sleep mine circulate to the backside and lie there and interior the morning i see them swimming fantastic ok turn off the mild circulate away it on 8-10 hours yet circulate away the present in this gives you oxygen and the shell according to probability cover somewhat the shells interior the gravel and plus they're going to use it i offered a broken Greek type pot for my aquarium and that they weren't going throughout the time of the hollow yet after 3 days they have been utilising it and that they prefer it lol

Kai has it. I too don't know if it's considered sleep but I've done night dives and messed with "sleeping" fish. Maybe they were dreaming because they didn't swim away.

Fish do not all follow the same rules. Fish are as different from each other as mammals.

Fish rest but they don't sleep. No eyelids. If they did sleep, they would become easy prey.
