My girlfriend smoked marijuana for the first time a few months ago. She really liked it and has done it about 4 times. I found out and got really mad. She has done it maybe once or twice since and i made her promise she wasnt going to do it again. I found a light in her purse a few days ago and she admitted that she was planning on smoking again. I got mad again. I dont know what to do, should i breakup with her over it? I tried to make her stop but she says it helps her get away from things. Shes the type of girl that wants it non-stop aswell. She sees nothing wrong with it and doesnt think its a big deal.

A guy I very recently started seeing was dating a girl for over a year. Apparently when they met, they both smoked pot. I guess they came to agreement that they were going to stop smoking, period. I'm just not sure if this was a mutual or one sided agreement of quitting. Anyways, she continued and hid it from him all the time. When he could catch her, she would lie to him saying things such as "They made me do it" Or "that stuff you found in my car isn't mine, so an so must have left it in there" etc.
Needless to say, he broke up with her. He got tired of the constant lying! I mean if you can't trust your partner to be truthful about big things especially, who can you? I'm not sure if he broke up with her part of because she was smoking again as well as the lying?
Anyways, this is something YOU have to decide if you can live with her doing this. You can't make her stop, she has to want to. Is this something you can get over and accept in other words? If the answer is no or you don't think so then I think the answer is clear that you need to break up with her and find someone else.

Dump her for her sake. You seem like you want to control her either that or you just have some very out of touch attitudes about pot. If your girlfriend wants to enjoy the occasional joint now and then, you really shouldn't have a problem with it. It's actually none of your business. If she's smoking responsbily is actually better for her mind and body than drinking responsibly. Lighten up.

She's not lying about using pot so she hasn't done anything wrong. You had no place to make her promise anything to you, it's her life. Never ever try to change anyone. If you can't accept her choices then go your seperate ways. She'll meet someone who will.

Yeah, dump her, if the situation isn't controlled, you may end up in something you can't get out of. Not only that but she lied to you about stopping. Get her into rehabilitation.
