I'm an intelligent, slightly above average looking, sixteen year old girl. I fix my hair and wear make up everyday. I'm a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl. When I have on my favorite jeans and a nice, plain, fitted t-shirt is when I feel the most confident. Then I see all these guys going after the "trendy girls". So I wear the "trendy clothes". The only problem is that when I wear these clothes I feel like I'm not being myself and lose my confidence.
My question is, would a guy rather go out with a confident girl that dresses kind of plain or an unconfident girl who takes the time to dress up everyday?
I'm clearly a bit confused. Any help is welcome.

These guys are the ones you don't want. Men who judge people on looks are either materialistic or immature. Think of your jeans and shirt as a filter. It will keep all the undesirable guys out of your life, and help let in the guys who will be more likely to understand you.

A 16 year old boy, let's be honest, will gravitate towards the girl who most openly offers the chance of sweaty sex.
A 16 year old boy also coudln't care less what a girl is wearing, since his preferred outfit for a girl is bare skin.
A 16 year old boy also "goes after" a girl mainly to prove to his friends that he can get laid.
Don't worry about your clothes. In about 3-5 years you'll find a nice guy to have sex with and the guy will be a friend at the same time. You will not find that guy in a high school.

First off you are 16 too dam young to be thinking about what other people think. Second guys specially older ones than you are scared of confident girls because they can't mold them or make them do what they want them to do. Just remember that guys or men what ever are highly sexually oriented and will do and go after what ever when they need so don't let your perception that they go after trendy girls only. Be smart and stay confident, and don't play the game.

I like simple girl that doesn't wear too much accessories or girls that wear too short tops or skirts. I like confident girls and a girl who's nice and friendly. Trend is just a trend it's just a cycle old designs just keeps coming back with some changes but its still the same. Guys who goes for girls that dresses to impress guys are guys who need a girl to play and display. Guys who wanted to feel that other guys envy him because he got this nice chic with hanging blouse and low waist pants that shows her pink t-back undies. Well, I'll go for the simplest and most beautiful woman that to those who looks so hot that shows to much of her skin.
Be confident.... wear comfortable clothes... and be yourself is the most important....
You don't have to attract every guys attention just wait and some one will come for you. You're still young at 16.

Stay confident at ALL times. Trendy is one thing, dressing neat is another. Are there any other clothes you like that are just a bit dressier then jeans and a t-shirt? Something that you would like on you?

I'm sixteen and I have to admit some of the trendy girls are really attractive but for some reason I end up falling for the confident girls who dont attract much attention and are beautiful in their own way.
It's gonna suck for me to say this but I think you should wait for the right guy who ends up liking you for who you are, not for who you're pretending to be.

sweety u need to relax, ur 16 guys that age are a waist sorry to say. but to answer ur ? yea i prefer confident gurls more than anything else, be urself and dont worry its a turn off when ur fake stay sweet and stay real cuz gurl even if u dress trendy and do get a guy ur still that same gurl inside and thats when the problem starts when he realises that so trust me be urself and its more worth it no matter whats the wait.

Wear whatever you feel most confortable in. Confidence is most definatly the best trait a girl can have. Dressing trendy/slutty/whatever will most likely just get you guys who are after your body, instead of you personality.

Yes, being yourself is better than being what society wants u to be. Try seeing that society wants you to be yourself and it would be a gross waste of personality if you conformed to their standards. Dress the way you like. I do. I have ugly clothes and like them. They make me look like a bum but I doon't care anymore. I don't dress ugly all the time. I always dress the occasion and sometimes looking like a bum wearing a wholy thermal shirt is fun, cuz i'm going fishing or doing something outdoors.

Its not what your wear that counts, its your personality that matter the most. If you are can carry an intelligent conversation with someone and not use the words ''you know '' at every end of a sentence you can be a price catch.
