I have had chicken breasts in the oven for over two hours at 400, the chicken is not even close to being done...I think my oven is shot. Does anyone have any advise for alternative ways of cooking my chicken faster tonight to feed my grumpy, hungry family faster?

If you set the oven to 400 then within about 10 minutes it would be pretty hot there. Your heater element could be open and will never heat up. It could be unplugged (if it is the plug-in type) and just needs to be poked back into its socket to work again.

If the oven element is the defective one then try turning the control to broil. That is a separate element and might still be OK. just watch carefully so the food doesn't burn on broil (maybe put aluminum foil over it)..

Microwave is the fastest easiest way to do chicken. A couple of minutes should do the trick. Or use a toaster oven if you're doing breaded chicken. Or dice it into pieces and stir fry it. Mmmm chicken.

Don't microwave chicken. It turns to rubber.

Just saute the chicken in a pan with some olive oil. Make sure you have some herbs or lemon to give it good flavor.

maybe your broiler works. raise the height of the rack and broil them. or poach them, grill them, smoke them, or if u have a toaster oven then put them in there.
