hello, another ar 15 question. if I buy a normal stripped lower and build it like normal, can i put a reciever (one that ejects the shells on the left side) on it? also, where can i find one, i kno that stag makes whole left handed ar's but do they sell just the left handed uppers?

the other guy is right about the lower being neither left or right handed except for the safety and mag release. DPMS makes a few uppers for the southpaws (I'm a lefty too). But I don't think they are worth getting instead of a right-hand eject. I'm a sergeant in the Army Reserves and I've spent quite a bit of time running ammo through the M-16 with no problems of brass hitting me in the face. Just make sure you get an upper with the shell deflector and you shouldn't have any problems. By staying with the right handed version, I think that gives you more options on tuning up your rifle, since more parts are made for the right handed versions.

There's nothing 'handed' about the interface between the upper and lower. The hammer, bolt catch and front and rear lugs are all centered in the action.

The only issues will be that the mag release and slide release will be on the wrong side. You can fix the safety by fitting an ambidextrous version. If you need instructions just ask, it's just one screw and two pins at worst, but a bit involved to describe doing it since it's a little fiddly.

You might check Rock River, Model 1 Sales, to begin with on the uppers.
