I can't believe I just read the post above (brian's). I'm sorry but wow. Do people actually believe this stuff? I mean, he must drive a honda with a fartcan on it and think he can take Vipers or something. That intake was good for 50 hp, the exhaust 75, removing the cat, another 30, oh and those sticker combined that I put on my car gave me 300 more hp. I can take on Vipers in my Honda hatchback now.

To answer your question you have the same or less hp than you did stock depending on how much you pissed off the pcm.

Ram 1500 Cold Air Intake

If I remember right a stock 01 1500 with the 5.2 makes 230 hp.Most cold air intakes claim a gain of 7 hp.Exhaust work if done right with headers will give a 15% gain or say about 35 hp.So your looking at roughly a 42 hp gain or you should now have 272 hp.Also running open headers actually drops your torque and lowers quarter mile et's back pressure is important.

The way these guys talk you can double all that hp with add Ono's. You only improve what you have. What you are talking about is performance. It will run better than stock.20% = 30% Is a selling pitch. If you didn't add a chip or programmer to add fuel change timing than you might run worse as the computer with sense to much air. Also you will have to run premium gas with a chip or spark knock?? It's not like the old days. You have to fool the computer to get performance.I have a 04.5 dodge 4x4 diesel Ram/air induction F&N filter 4"exhaust 100hp chip. 315x70x17 BF at/ko tires. All i wanted was better fuel mileage 20 mph hwy 1650 rpm. Runs great.

Depends on the system your installing if the intake is actually drawing in OUTSIDE COLD AIR its good for 20% increase, exhaust wise people argue with me all the time but having no mufflers at all and headers is good for another 30%. The extra air flow will make your computer richen you air/fuel mixture bumpin the power up and the higher flowing exhaust helps push it out. And it makes it sound like a truck should. Another way to get more actual engine power to the ground is change your axle ratios. I know this because I own three rams 94 97 and 06.
