When I was little my mother and aunt used to go shopping there for really nice dresses and stuff like that.

I remember my mother taking me after seeing a I love Lucy episode where they model the dresses and then you buy them. When a neighbor lady said you could experience that even as a middle class person we all got dressed up to see the ladies model the dresses. I think my mother got one dress. she was very mortifies when my sister and I tried to yank off our dresses as they itched. We pitched a fit right there in the fancy show room and had to leave. LOL

yeah- I used to shop there for nice clothes my freshman year in college at UCLA.... I was so sad when all the dept stores all merged... (or when macy knocked them all out- bye bye Bullocks, Broadway, May CO, RObinsons, Marshall Fields...)

YES!! With my grandma!!!!! She loved to shop. We would go there very often, she would take me school clothes shopping. That is a good question!!! I had GREAT memories & this question brought them back.

When I was really little I remember going there with my mom.......I remember she used to say we were going to the "basement" for the sale stuff then we would goand eat there...I think they had some nut bread I loved...
