i doubt we do, exactly. it's just that we tend to want more attractive ones, and can be blinded to bad personalities. the hotter ones may not feel the need to be as nice, since everyone wants them anyway. the less hot ones may be extra nice to guys they like, but their niceness can't make up for their looks.
i know that sounds incredibly harsh, but i've been in this situation. younger guys in particular get blinded by looks.
of course, it isn't always that the ruder ones are hotter and the nicer ones not as hot. but that happens often.
also, if you fawn over a guy constantly and are *excessively* nice, like a puppy-dog, that can bore a guy and seem clingy and needy and desperate.

Could it be that boys enjoy a vigorous challenge? And, by the way girls do the same thing by choosing tough guys over the gentler variety.

Why do women want the exact same thing? It's not really something that can be explained here. Maybe we have a terrible decision matrix in our brains that overrides every other part?

not all guys want that that kind of relationship. i will take a heart felt relationship over an abusive one

its the fact that they want wut they dont think they can have...a girl that treats him like crap is almost impossible to get (in a guys eyes) so they want them.
