Just the opposite, 84-86 SVO is what you should be looking for, lots of them being parted out. the 84 comes with a 3.45, the 85/86 have the 3.73 both traction locks, and as a bonus your get disc brakes and 5 stud wheels!

Your best bet is a 86-93 8.8 rearend. It is stronger than your 7.5 and is a direct bolt-in. Just leave the quad shocks off of it since you will not have the frame mount for them.
I would add 3.55 is 5 speed or 3.73's if an auto trans to really wake it up.

But you can use any 79-93 Mustang rearend except the 84-85.5 SVO and 93 Cobra. They are 4 wheel disc brake and require brake system modifications.

Go to a large junkyard and ask them to check the Hollander Interchange Manual. It will tell you what other parts will interchange with your 'Stang. Good luck!
