Nope, its the ratio for the rear end gear. Depending on the year you have it could be as low as 2.78 Basically it will increase your RPM's for highway driving and make your car accellerate much quicker.

It is a lower ratio gear set for the rearend. A 4.10 to 1 gear ratio will give you much better acceleration with some loss of top end speed.

no, 4.10 is a diffrent set of gears that go in your rear end that changes your final drive ratio, the higher the number, the lower your top speed, 4.10 gear ratio is what a lot of ford guys use, my buddy is putting 4.30's in his mach this week, it's better for racing, but your gas mileage goes down with it....

It's a different set of gears, it will increase your accel, but cut your top speed. You can pick some up at this site:

Lower gears in the rear end. Better getup on a hole shot but mileage will go down because you'll be turning higher rpm all the time.

No it's like taking 6 gear away an 1 lower than first.Gear replacement rear end>

It's changing the rear-end gearing to a stiffer ratio for more performance. Beware if you drive highways much though the fuel mileage will suffer.
