Don't worry, you won't seem petty if you are asking for clarification about your paycheck - it's important. Just politely ask the human resources or accounting office about they discrepancy, and they will look into it.

Hi,
I'm so sorry that your company is trying to rip you off like that. It seems that more and more companies have found that if they steal just a couple pennies from everyone, that they can save alot of money. Unfortunatly, That is Illigal!
What you should do, depending on your situation, is do what you love.
Don't you agree that everyone should be able to make money in doing something they love? Of course, everyone does. For an example. I, and alot of my friends work for ourselves and make great money through Network Marketing with The Limu Comany. There are alot of great companies out there. That is the Best way to make as much money as you can very fast.
Tons of my friends are doubling their money in the first 30 days, you just have to get a company with a great compensation plan.
If you and your friends want to hear more about it, or just learn more about network marketing you can e-mail my friend at: LimuManiac@yahoo.com

That's a tough one. It could be a training wage...though usually training wages are significantly lower than what you make after you go through the trial/probationary period at a company. When you approach your employer and bring the discrepancy to his or her attention I would word it just like your question with honesty and tact. Good luck!

Yes you should bring it to their attention. You should be getting the wage you signed for.You should also receive all the back pay that was not paid to you either.Since you signed a contract by law they have to give it to you.
