Um, they tolerate with fresh and salt water. Like, for an example...starfish will tolerate as low as 16-18 percent of the normal concentration of seawater. Fishes live with families to protect themselves from predators, such as whales and sharks. With food, lots of fish eat different things depending on the breed, though. There are carnivores, herbivores and omnivores. But, some fish would eat algea and sea plants to survive if they had to. Um, some fish would protect themselves by staying underground in the ocean, camouflaging against underwater rocks, hide in reefs, or camouflage with a larger type of fish, to protect themselves from predators. They live in reefs, and sometimes on underwater rocks. I don't know!!!
