For "M"
The earth was first destroyed by water during the great flood. It's an interesting story... you might want to read about it yourself!!!

Francine - none was assigning blame!
Sapient - To which scientific research are you referring? And, I personally don't wait for leadership to begin making amends with identifiable problems. Finally, psychobabble belongs to the soft sciences... not to Christians.

The bible does not Prophesy about global warming destroying the earth, It prophesies about a great battle and man all most destroying humanity, before Jesus Christ second return to put a stop to it, and claiming His Kingdom.
The earth it self was never destroyed, the flood did not destroy the earth, it was still there, it was humanity that was destroyed except for the eight and the amines that was on the Ark. You have to get your facts straight. The earth will always remain even at the end time when God burns every thing, on the earth God only burns up, all the man made things

First I'd like to say - Science has already proven that there was never a flood like described in the Bible. (Try reading something real for a change).
Second, this crap is exactly why Christian leaders aren't doing anything about global warming. Because they think their friggin' bible tells them its supposed to happen!!! These idiots are going to destroy the planet because of this psychobabble!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the world is big enough and the bible has lots of stuff in it that it's pretty easy for people to find things to fit. If human kind exists long enough, well certainly things that can "fit" are going to happen now and then, and humans love to look at stuff just the right angle to make it fit... Much like seeing bunnies in clouds.
Doesn't mean the book had a prophesy though...

The warming prophesied about in the bible will require more than an extra coating of sun block to protect from the heat.

Those Bozos thought that the earth was flat and they did not have a clue about the earth’s global climate system.
For crying out loud, they thought that God stored snow and hail in warehouses:
[Job 38:22] Have you entered the storehouses of the snow, or have you seen the storehouses of the hail?
and that the stars could be shaken out of the night sky like figs from a tree:
[Revelation 6:12-14] And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

I believe that all that is happening within and above the earth is in the Bible. It speaks about the earth having birth pangs, this is just a sign of the times that time is running out. PTL

However I do believe America has been given a great deal of light and if they continue to turn away from God - God's judgment will be brought to bear again this nation, in a way that will leave little doubt.
