What is the difference between a Blueberry & a Saskatoon Berry?

What is the difference between a Blueberry & a Saskatoon Berry?

My husband is from Alberta Canada (I'm from the US) & he's been telling me about these "Saskatoons" & that they are similar to a Blue Berry. Is there any difference? Or maybe its just a different name...

Saskatoon, Amelanchier alnifolia, is a serviceberry.

Blueberry, Vaccinium sp., is not.

They're not the same.
