It's obvious the 24 and 20 are dominating lately. But they come from multiple car owners (HMS & JGR) and have a lot more money in their organizations, but could they win if they were driving a Petty car?

I've always wondered what was going wrong at Pettys.
I'm sure Tony or Jeff would run up front or more toward the middle, I think it's the equiptment, I know Bobby can drive, he's proven that before. For some unknown reason they can't get a handle on the Dodges.

Yikes no real good way to answer that or even really know for sure.But I'll just say this,I believe either of them in a Petty car would bring it home in a higher position then any of the Petty guys now.

They might not be able to win in a Petty car but they could probably give a pretty good shot!

Petty has improved a lot but I don't think they could right now. If they keep getting better maybe next season they would be able to compete for some top 5's.

Of course not, but with their experience and knowledge they can make the team run stronger, Idd say Gordon would do better then Stewart in Petty equimpent because of Robbie Loomis

Bobby Labante can't even win in a Petty car and he is a Cup Champion! I don't think its the driver i think its the cars!

With a tweek here and another there either one could put on a good show in a Petty car.

If Jeff had Robbie Loomis as his crew chief then Jeff would probably do better than Tony, but they would never win in one of those cars.

I think Stewart has proven time and time again that he can win with whatever equipment is thrown at him, so I think he could. Gordon has had pretty good equipment his whole racing life, but if he took his crew chief with him he could even win. Then again we might get to see next year if Stewart can win in sub-par equipment, JGR might be driving Yotas
